Charlize Theron Has Another Fringed Fashion Moment

Charlize Theron attended the first Airbnb.org Gala, held at Milk Studios in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening. I would love to think the event was celebrating Airbnb’s decision to limit the chores hosts can ask guests to do, because who wants to spend their vacation cleaning a rental home? But I digress. We’re here for the fashion.

The actress has always loved a fringed moment, as we saw during her The Odyssey press tour, when she delivered a memorable look in Louis Vuitton, and who can forget her gold fringe Dior moment at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party? This time, she turned to Givenchy, a label she seems to favour more often than Dior these days, despite her longstanding association with the French fashion house.

Her vivid green fringed dress from the Spring 2027 collection originally featured a yellow knotted leather belt, which Charlize chose to remove. I understand why. The bugle-bead-embroidered waistband and neckline give the dress a cleaner finish that feels more in keeping with her style.

However, green and yellow are such a beautiful combination that I wish she had carried that colour contrast through to her footwear. The black Givenchy Boudoir pompom sandals don’t work for me, especially when yellow would have been such a fun alternative.

Her Jessica McCormack emerald and diamond Gypset hoop earrings, 3.64-carat diamond ring and blackened gold band completed the look. The jewellery was a lovely choice, but I’m still thinking about those sandals.
