2019 Elle Women In Hollywood: The All Black Edition

2019 Elle Women In Hollywood: The All Black Edition

It was a jammed pack red carpet for the 2019 Elle Women In Hollywood on Monday (October 14) in LA, so I’ve split the coverage into three parts.

Part one is those who wore black.  Part two will be for those who wore tuxedos, and part three is all about colour.

Scarlett Johansson:  As you know I’m a fan of Scarlett’s sultry side which didn’t really come out to play in this Tom Ford velvet and crepe dress, but I love how the look is amped up with that dynamic eye makeup.

Natalie Portman: After giving us a splash of colour this weekend, it was back to black and Dior for Natalie.  Is there a touch of familiarity when it comes to this Dior Haute Couture Fall 2019 bustier lace black dress?  Yes, but as always she looks pretty and elegant.  So if it ain’t broke….

Margot Robbie:  Ralph Lauren dominated this red carpet as one of the hosts of this event, which meant they outfitted several of the attendees, including Margot Robbie.   The actress, who failed to impress at the ‘Bombshell’ LA screening, fared much better in this Ralph Lauren Collection Fall 2019 two-piece look.  Some might feel that the cummerbund sits a little too high, but overall this was a simple, yet glamorous moment for Margot.

Nicole Kidman: Also in Ralph Lauren Collection Fall 2019, this tuxedo dress presents a sleek impression, even if I wanted just a little bit more from the Australian actress. Yvan Tufenkjian choker, earrings, rings and Kallati and Le Vian rings, plus Manolo Blahnik pumps completed her look.

Gwyneth Paltrow: After a trio of loose-fitted pieces, the actress returned to a more slinky silhouette in this Bottega Veneta Spring 2020 dress styled with Nikos Koulis jewels and Jimmy Choo sandals.

Mindy Kaling:   I would’ve expected to be writing about Mindy in the colour post, but I can’t complain when she looks this good.  I love how the embellished sleeves elevates this Oscar de la Renta dress, and how that detail was complemented with Jimmy Choo shoes and David Yurman jewels.

Hunter Schafer: In terms of texture and detail, Hunter’s Loewe Spring 2020 fringed dress was very intriguing, even if I’m on the fence as to whether she pulled it off.

Sydney Sweeney:  Also part of the Ralph Lauren Collection Fall 2019 crew, the young actress presented a more playful offering in this mini velvet dress accented with a feathers for good measure.

Adria Arjona: The beautiful actress rocked a Ralph Lauren Collection jumpsuit from the Fall 2019 collection. I love the clean styling of this look.

Reese Witherspoon: This Miu Miu dress couldn’t have been a more Reese Witherspoon dress if it tried.
