Oscar Night: The Ones We Missed

As awards season proper wrapped up with the 2019 Oscars, we cannot go before reflecting on some of the looks from Sunday (February 24) from the awards ceremony and the Vanity Fair Oscar Party that we didn’t have a chance to discuss yet.

Julia Roberts: Her monochromatic M.O. was forgotten about completely in this vivacious hot pink Elie Saab gown with coordinating sandals. The waterfall drapery on the side works with the asymmetrical neckline beautifully.

Nina Dobrev: Some will likely get a bridal spirit from the actress’s Brock Collection look from the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. There are some intriguing elements, but the black bag is too jarring against the prim piece.

Lady Gaga: She proudly posed with her statue in Brandon Maxwell and the same Tiffany necklace from the main event. It was a great repeat move because the statement jewels balanced the dramatic flare of the skirt.

Sarah Hyland: The ‘Modern Family’ actress struck a tall pose in Zac Posen. The contrasting earrings help create a summery vibe. It’s too bad the clean line of the skirt is interrupted by the pooling hem.

Chloe and Halle Bailey: The sister act put on a coordinated front in Versace Fall 2019. The sexy bondage looks coordinate without becoming comical. Crucially, they also stand on their own.

Julianne Hough: Surprisingly, my initial reaction to this J. Mendel gown wasn’t that of fatigue. It was that it would have better suited someone with darker hair.
