2018 Glamour Women of the Year Awards

2018 Glamour Women of the Year Awards

There were a host of ladies showing their support at the 2018 Glamour Women of the Year Awards on Monday (November 12) in New York City. They joined Claire Danes and Janelle Monáe.

Coco Rocha: The models’ austere white Christian Siriano gown was given a whimsical finish with blue tulle adorning the sleeves. The playful detail had the appearance of feathers.

Elizabeth Debicki: The ‘Widows’ actress was sleek and supremely chic in Monse Pre-Fall 2018. The shimmering twisted fabric of the neckline made ornate jewels unnecessary and heightened the decadence of the black velvet.

Kat Graham: Looking ravishing in red, the former ‘The Vampire Diaries’ actress wore Christian Siriano Fall 2018. It stayed true to her experimental nature, but I wish she opted for a sleeker hairstyle like the runway. Anabela Chan sustainable lab-grown ruby and pink and orange sapphire earrings completed her look.

Karlie Kloss: The supermodel went short and body-skimming in Brandon Maxwell Spring 2019. The pointed pumps and slicked-back hair enhance the power dressing sentiment, but I wish she wore the original pink and red version.

Alicia Silverstone: Another in Christian Siriano Fall 2018, she projected a rock ‘n’ roll attitude with her inky jumpsuit. Given the designer is known for flattering all shapes and sizes, I would have liked to see the trousers cut in a different way.

Lili Reinhart: After attending the 2018 Glamour Women Of The Year Summit: Women Rise, the ‘Riverdale’ actress was back on the red carpet in a liquid-like Markarian gown. Not even the thigh-baring slit or embellished straps could completely distract from the draped fabric.

Zosia Mamet: Pantsuits are a popular red carpet pick, but this dowdy beige suit and platform shoes felt out of place at the evening event.

Andie Macdowell: The American actress brought some whimsy in Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2018. The butterfly interpretation was playful but not costumey and the additional layers on the skirt allowed the focus to remain on the design.

Chrissy Teigen: The honoree looked regal in white Solace London ‘Sanna’ dress from the Fall 2018 collection. The asymmetrical draping wasn’t distracted by superfluous accessories. The metallic heels and dangling earrings provided just enough shine.

Padma Lakshmi: She showed some leg in a dazzling Christian Siriano Fall 2018 dress. The textured fabric was as striking as the sensual detail and she wisely let it remain a focal point.

Ashley Graham: Rounding out the looks from the unofficial designer of the night, she wore Christian Siriano Spring 2019. The wrap detail on the tube top creates a marvelous drape on the runway so it’s a shame it is lost here. But, she’s still working the vivacious separates. Nicholas Kirkwood sandals completed her look.
