Greta Gerwig In Valentino – ‘Isle of Dogs’ Berlinale International Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

I was delighted to see Greta Gerwig grace the red carpet for the ‘Isle of Dogs’ premiere which served as the opening ceremony for the 68th Berlinale International Film Festival in Berlin, Germany this evening (February 15).

I love how the intricate embroideries and appliqués that sit on this sheer tulle Valentino Pre-Fall 2018 gown make this an exquisite showpiece which leaves a lasting impression.

From certain angles, I wished the lining had been lighter in colour, but from others; it serves the purpose of being the perfect backdrop to enhance the gold detailing.

I just can’t get on board with her style. Not for me :S.

I really love like 99% of what Greta puts on! I see what you’re saying about the lining, but I think in this case and many others its more that its the wrong tone rather than too light, would’ve been a better match to her skin if, like her skin, the “beige” of the lining had more pink undertones.

It looks drab, but then again, I have nothing against GG, but she makes every outfit look drab. I just don’t like her style and she often looks unsure of it herself.

The problem of these sheer looks is that they’re weighted down by lining but they’re too naked without. This look combines both issues. A shame because the detailing is beautiful. Although, for what it’s worth, I wouldn’t have had the bodice be so abstract–it loses shape.

The sequins, seams, and the lining choice make this look like a cheap knockoff of Valentino. I don’t like it one bit.

The skirt is beautiful but I don’t know if I like the top. Hair and makeup is gorgeous.

      I totally agree.

I did not like this at first but it grew on me. I think my issue is with the nude lining. This dress sort of illustrates my issue with sheer sometimes. If she had not lined it, this would have been a no but finding the correct lining that lets you see the details of the design is not an easy task.

Meh, the nude lining kills this for me. The color of the embroidery looks gorgeous on her

I’m trying desperately for it not to ruin it for me.

Pretty gorgeous, it definitely makes an impact and I love the close-up photo.
Actually, I’m loving the whole look more the longer I look at it.

I want to like this, but I don’t and I can’t exactly put my finger on what it is I don’t like. But her beauty look is gorgeous – I love her hair and makeup.
