Carina Lau In Giambattista Valli Couture – ‘Modern Weekly’ 15th Anniversary Banquet

Carina Lau arrived at the 15th anniversary banquet for the lifestyle magazine, ‘Modern Weekly,’ held in Shanghai, China on Saturday (December 14).

The Hong Kong actress wore a pearl-coloured design from the Giambattista Valli Spring 2013 Couture collection.

A balance of structure and delicacy, the frock featured a netted, embroidered overlay along with an exaggerated cape at the back.

I’m not sold on her styling, though. With the harsher metallic tones radiating from her clutch and peep-toe platform heels, along with a statement necklace that did nothing to complement the dress’s silhouette, this look lost some of its charm.

Perhaps softer makeup tones in blush-nudes and pinks would have helped complete the picture. What do you think?
