Michelle Obama In Carolina Herrera – Charlottenburg Palace Berlin Dinner

Michelle Obama In Carolina Herrera - Charlottenburg Palace Dinner

First Lady Michelle Obama, President Barack Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel attended the dinner given in honour of the President at the Orangerie of Schloss Charlottenburg palace in Berlin, Germany this evening.

Obama is visiting Berlin for the first time during his presidency and his speech at the Brandenburg Gate is set to be the highlight. Obama will be speaking close to the 50th anniversary of the historic speech by then U.S. President John F. Kennedy in Berlin in 1963, during which he proclaimed the famous sentence: ‘Ich bin ein Berliner.’

Michelle wore a Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2013 dress for the occasion.

The sleeveless wave pattern jacquard party dress featuring grosgrain bow accented straps, a high squared neck, a drop waist; and pleating at the skirt was styled with black kitten heels.

I have loved a lot of Michelle red carpet choices; however, I’m on the fence with this one.

It’s the bows which given me a feeling that this dress may have been better suited to the likes of Camilla Belle, Emmy Rossum or Kiernan Shipka.

She would’ve looked better in the sheath version of this dress – sans bows.
