Charlize Theron Is Becoming The Ultimate Tom Ford Woman
Charlize Theron attended the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday evening, where she was honoured with the Icon Award.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll be surprised that Charlize wasn’t among the Dior-clad attendees. However, I’ve noticed that she has become increasingly enamoured with Haider Ackermann’s designs for Tom Ford, and, in my opinion, she is the perfect Tom Ford woman, even more so than a Dior woman under the house’s current creative direction.
There is a sense of familiarity with this custom Tom Ford gown, inspired by the Spring 2026 collection, as we’ve already seen variations of the design worn by Anya Taylor-Joy. But what makes this work so well on Charlize is that it’s sheer without feeling overly revealing.
Charlize looks statuesque, and we know how much she loves to show off her legs, usually in shorts or mini dresses. Here, the sheer skirt gives her that same effect, but in a way that feels more appropriate for the occasion. The intricate black lace and embroidery provide just enough coverage, while her sleek, swept-back hair keeps the focus on the ornate neckline.
I’ve had my eye on look 48 from the Tom Ford Spring 2027 collection for Charlize ever since it appeared on the runway, so I was secretly hoping she would wear it here. Still, seeing her embrace the label again gives me hope that my wish might eventually come true.
She completed the look with black strappy Tom Ford sandals and Boucheron jewellery, including mismatched diamond earrings, a Fuzzy the Leopard Cat emerald ring and several rings from the Quatre collection.
