Sarah Paulson Embraces a Cocoon Silhouette at TIFF
Sarah Paulson attended the premiere of Closing Night during the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival at the Princess of Wales Theatre on Saturday.

Dressed in a Danielle Frankel cocoon coat, the absence of the floral shoulder embellishments seen in the lookbook was a good call, as the cocoon shape is interesting enough on its own.
There is a lot of volume here, but Sarah has always been willing to explore shapes in a way that many actresses wouldn’t. We all know Sarah’s prowess when it comes to unique silhouettes – her Marc Jacobs balloon dress from the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party is testament to that – so this Danielle Frankel coat feels entirely within her wheelhouse.
The only thing not working for me here is the sandals. The black feels too abrupt against the softness of the ivory tulle, and the strappy peep-toe style feels disconnected from the dress. I would have preferred a more minimalist sandal, such as Jimmy Choo’s Minny or Stuart Weitzman’s Nudist.
