Emily Alyn Lind Doubles Down on Black Lace in Venice for ‘Company’

Emily Alyn Lind attended the Venice Film Festival to promote her upcoming film, Company, serving up two very different looks for the photocall and premiere.

Emily wore an Erdem Resort 2027 textured cream mini dress with black lace peeking from the hem, and my first thought was Ophelia Lovibond. Perhaps it’s the softly tousled brunette hair combined with the ingénue quality and slightly retro styling, but the resemblance feels particularly strong here.

As for the dress, I like it on Emily. It has a sweetness that feels right for a daytime photocall, with the black lace providing just enough contrast to keep the look from becoming overly precious. Aquazzura sandals completed her look.

Premiere

Then came the premiere, and I’m baffled by this Louis Vuitton black ruffled lace long-sleeved gown.

My issue is entirely with the white underlayer. The contrast against the black lace is so stark that my eye goes straight to the lining instead of the gown itself. Give me the exact same design with a skin-tone lining and I would have been completely on board. We would still have seen the intricacy of the lace, but without that white panel dominating the look.

Protection earrings from the Louis Vuitton Virtuosity collection and a ring from the Louis Vuitton Mythica collection completed her look.
