Lupita Nyong’o In Celine – 2018 Glamour Women of the Year Awards

Lupita Nyong'o In Celine - 2018 Glamour Women of the Year Awards

Lupita Nyong’o shimmered at the 2018 Glamour Women of the Year Awards on Monday (November 12) in New York City, where she honoured Senator Kamala Harris.

I’m always partial to the actress in vivid colour, but her twinkling Celine Spring 2019 ensemble made a playful statement.

She toughened up the cut-out mini with a black leather jacket à la the runway for parts of the event.

Nine West ‘Mana’ sandals and Djula earrings completed the inky outfit.

SAG-AFTRA Foundation

SAG-AFTRA Foundation

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation events on Thursday (November 8) Friday (November 9) in New York City brought out a myriad of chic looks.

Rachel Weisz: The new mum looked effortless in Altuzarra Resort 2019 at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations: ‘The Favourite’ event with the strappy sandals echoing the dress’s textured fabric.

Felicity Jones: The British beauty went retro in Sies Marjan Spring 2019 for the ‘On The Basis Of Sex’ conversation event. This is her second look from this collection and I’m curious how this one will be received because the pink number is very different from her previous power suit.

IndieWire Honors 2018

Charlize Theron was joined by three gorgeous ladies at the IndieWire Honors 2018 on Thursday (November 1) in Los Angeles, California.

Amandla Stenberg: My eyes fell straight to Amandla’s Le Silla ‘Gilda’ crystal ankle boots, as I struggled to get on board with her zip accented Stella McCartney Spring 2019 skater dress.

Natalie Portman: It was a case of something new, for Natalie Portman as Karla Welch styled the usually Dior-clad actress in the second look from Hedi Slimane’s Saint Laurent Celine Spring 2019 collection. Tailoring has always been Slimane’s forte, but this look could’ve easily hailed from any of his last 5 or so collections. I like the look in theory, but the suit feels a little too big for Natalie. Repossi jewels and a Tyler Ellis clutch completed her look.

Constance Wu: We all know Constance loves pretty frocks, so I was surprised to see her opt for something with a sultry edge courtesy of Christopher Kane’s Resort 2019 collection. The sheer skirt keeps leather dress firmly in her ultra pretty realm. I’m curious if this is the start of a new style direction from Constance.

Dakota Johnson In Celine – ‘Suspiria’ LA Premiere

Dakota Johnson In Celine - 'Suspiria' LA Premiere

After the big build up, and subsequent fall-out following Hedi Slimane’s debut for Celine, it’s Dakota Johnson who snagged the first look off the runway for the LA premiere of ‘Suspiria’ held at ArcLight Cinerama Dome on Wednesday (October 24).

She managed to select one of the few pieces that was both bold in colour and decorative in its fabric which embodied high-octane glamour.

Dakota could have enhanced the sparkle and shine of this show-stopping piece with metallic accessories, but instead she kept the dress in focus with black Giuseppe Zanotti Pauline sandals.

Gorgeous, but I’m not sure she’ll be able to top her Gucci gown from the London premiere.

‘Boys In The Band’ 50th Anniversary Celebration

Zachary Quinto and Sarah Paulson attended the ‘Boys In The Band’ 50th anniversary celebration on Wednesday (May 30) in New York City, joining Allison Williams.

Zachary Quinto: Suited and booted in Givenchy Fall 2018, he contrasted the classic preppy feel of the gray glen plaid suit with the glossy black boots. The footwear was bold, but it tied in the black buttons and the arrow details on the collar.

Sarah Paulson: The ‘Ocean’s 8’ actress oozed glamour in Celine. The combination of the subdued neutrals against the earthy print has such a sophisticated bohemian allure. I have half a mind to see the length of the hemlines experimented with, yet I don’t want to alter the effect of the look.

The Business Of Fashion Celebrates ‘The Age Of Influence’

The Business Of Fashion celebrated ‘The Age Of Influence’ special print edition with an intimate dinner on Tuesday (May 8) in New York City with a handful of Kardashians-Jenners in attendance.

Kim Kardashian: This Versace Spring 1995 dress certainly has the va-va-voom sex appeal that’s in her wheelhouse, but the vivacious yellow colour is a shade we don’t often see her in. The electric shade presented a different mood than the usual dark allure, but there was still plenty of sensuality with the up-to-there slit and sculpted corset.

Kendall Jenner: Showcasing her lithe figure, she opted for a sleek white pantsuit. The tie belt and red accents add drama, but it was really all about the open front. It’s daringly low so I can just imagine how much body tape was used.

Kylie Jenner: The new mom donned a Celine Spring 2018 dress that was previously worn by Sasha Lane. Removing the fringed skirt and superfluous embellishments created a form-fitting look that was more in keeping with her style. The lightweight fabric and clingy silhouette showcased her curves.
