Rooney Mara & Kate Mara Lead ‘Bucking Fastard’ Venice Photocall

Rooney Mara and Kate Mara attended the Venice Film Festival photocall for their new film, Bucking Fastard, with both sisters staying true to their individual style signatures.

White Is Her Other Neutral

Rooney Mara has long leaned towards sustainable labels, so seeing her in Stella McCartney Spring 2026 feels like a natural choice.

And if you’re surprised to see Rooney in white, don’t be. When she opts out of black, white is usually her next move. The clean lines and asymmetric draping are firmly within her minimalist wheelhouse, while the cut-out detail gives the look enough interest for a Venice photocall.

I’m expecting a return to black for this evening’s premiere, most likely Givenchy, but for daytime duties, this feels exactly right.

Signature Kate Mara

Her sister and co-star Kate Mara was giving us Kate Mara energy once again in a detailed mini dress from the McQueen Fall 2026 collection.

I love someone who has a signature, and Kate’s never feels repetitive. Short hemlines are a Kate Mara staple, along with intricate detailing and a sculpted shape, which gives each look its own identity.

I do wonder if she will switch things up for the premiere this evening, considering this is the film’s world premiere. A longer silhouette would certainly make a change, although I wouldn’t be surprised if she stays loyal to the mini.

The sisters found some common ground with their footwear, both opting for white sandals, with Kate’s pair featuring an ankle strap.
