Grey Cloud

As you know, grey isn’t my favourite colour, but I can get on board with Zendaya’s silvery-grey one-shoulder Louis Vuitton dress for the draping alone. The sculptural fold framing the neckline and shoulder gave the look a cocoon-like elegance which felt far more interesting than the colour itself.

Then we have Anne Hathaway, who many felt had an underwhelming The Devil Wears Prada 2 press tour. Having already worn two Louis Vuitton looks during that tour, I wasn’t surprised to see her attending this presentation for the first time.

What did surprise me was how frumpy this dress felt on her. Between the oversized proportions, the washed charcoal tone, and the awkward layering, it was giving dark academia or castle-core. And that monogram Louis Vuitton trunk bag only made things worse.

Naïve Inspired Pastoral Paintings

Jennifer Connelly and Nana Ouyang both wore Louis Vuitton Fall 2026 looks showcasing Nicolas Ghesquière’s ongoing fascination with surreal, folk-art inspired imagery and crafted storytelling.

The pastoral art panels featuring stylised animals and miniature scenes feel slightly random at first glance, but they fit perfectly within the eccentric spirit running through this collection.

And honestly, if anyone was going to make these oddball narrative skirts work outside the runway, it was always going to be Jennifer Connelly.

Nana Ouyang’s look, however, brought a softer, sweeter energy to the concept, with the pink bandeau styling helping balance the whimsical artwork.

Mad For Plaid

Chase Infiniti and Alicia Vikander fully committed to Nicolas Ghesquière’s plaid-heavy vision, although they approached it from completely different angles.

Chase’s cropped knit and pleated mini skirt combination leaned into youthful experimental dressing, especially with those buckled boots adding even more visual texture to the look.

Alicia’s check ensemble wasn’t quite as edgy, although it did feature two pastoral art patches.

Mad For Plaid Part II

Emily Blunt and Marina Foïs continued the plaid conversation in black and white, though no less distinctively Ghesquière.

Emily Blunt’s Louis Vuitton look leaned into Nicolas Ghesquière’s love of graphic contrast with the mixed plaid panels and exaggerated proportions. It’s visually loaded, but the saving grace is that the styling didn’t try to compete with the outfit itself.

Marina Foïs, meanwhile, gave us the most relaxed interpretation of the trend in a checked zip-up jacket paired with black trousers and leather boots. It felt practical, understated, and refreshingly free from overstyling.

Fuzzy Wool & Leather, For Spring?

Cate Blanchett and Emma Laird both wore Louis Vuitton looks mixing leather and knitwear, which still feels like an odd direction for Spring dressing.

Then again, both women have long shared an appetite for directional fashion choices that exist outside expectations.

Cate’s textured grey knit with leather trousers felt entirely in line with her intellectual approach to fashion, where unusual fabrication combinations often become the point of interest.

Emma Laird’s leather corset layered over furry textures and leopard-print trousers pushed things much further into experimental territory. It’s not an easy look to pull off, but she approached it with exactly the kind of cool detachment these Nicolas Ghesquière creations often demand.

Black Tailoring

Emma Stone, Liu Yifei, Stacy Martin, and Amy Adams all opted to play it safe in Louis Vuitton black tailoring, and honestly, I don’t judge them for it at all. Nicolas Ghesquière’s runway designs can feel intimidating, and if that aesthetic doesn’t naturally align with your personal style, it’s easy for the clothes to end up wearing you instead of the other way around.

Emma Stone kept things sleek and understated in a pared-back look, which felt entirely in line with her preference for quieter dressing lately.

Liu Yifei brought a sharper energy in an oversized black suit finished with plush trim and a striking emerald-green bag, which injected just enough contrast into the look.

Stacy Martin’s embossed black double-breasted suit carried a subtle gothic mood which suited her perfectly, while Amy Adams gave us the most classic interpretation of the group in clean black tailoring softened by the ivory scarf detail.

Patchwork With Attitude

Chloë Sevigny had no such problem finding a Louis Vuitton Fall 2026 runway look suited to her style sensibilities, because Ghesquière’s work, as layered and eccentric as it can often be, has always aligned naturally with her fashion instincts.

This puffed silhouette patchwork dress, styled with knee-high leather boots, should theoretically feel chaotic, yet on Chloë it lands with the exact offbeat coolness required to make it work.

Overworked

Hannah Einbinder’s Louis Vuitton Fall 2026 look has a lot going on. Honestly, far too much.

Between the layered textures, fringe detailing, exaggerated proportions, and mixed fabrics, the outfit feels visually overloaded from every angle.

That said, I am glad to see her relationship with Louis Vuitton is still going strong, because many of her awards season looks in other labels simply didn’t work.

2 Out Of 3

The Haim sisters are usually a trio on any red carpet, but in this case only Danielle and Este attended.

And while they are both giving us winter fabrics and knee-high boots in the middle of Spring, I actually love both Louis Vuitton looks, mostly because I’m getting a strong ’60s mod influence from each piece.

Danielle’s oxblood leather sleeveless dress had that clean graphic simplicity which immediately recalled vintage Courrèges energy, while Este’s camel coat dress with oversized black buttons leaned further into retro dressing.

Going Dark

Hoyeon fully embraced the darker side of Nicolas Ghesquière’s aesthetic in a look which had a surprisingly moody, almost nocturnal feel for the actress.

Black On Black

Felix was the only menswear look in this line-up, and his sharply tailored black double-breasted Louis Vuitton suit was clean and proportionate, even if I can’t see the exacting details which have been flattened by the photography.
