‘Alita: Battle Angel’ Los Angeles Premiere

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ New York Premiere

The ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ Los Angeles premiere on Tuesday (February 5) had a range of looks to discuss.

Dua Lipa: She dialed up the drama in a highly embellished Prada gown. The mix of sequins and beads is sublime, but the low back might actually be my favourite detail. I foresee the chunky platforms being divisive.

Jennifer Connelly In Louis Vuitton – ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ World Premiere

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon Features Jennifer Connelly In Louis Vuitton - ‘Alita Battle Angel’ World Premiere

There is nothing more certain in life than Jennifer Connelly wearing Louis Vuitton.

The actress didn’t use the ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ world premiere on Thursday (January 31), to change a habit of a lifetime.

While this silhouette is quite common Louis Vuitton, I feel it really comes alive with lattice detailing which is accented with tonal sequins.

I’m not usually a fan of black accessories with white dresses, but on this occasion the LV accessories – which included a custom clutch bag – matched the mood of the look.

Front Row @ Louis Vuitton Cruise 2019

A handful of lovely ladies were in attendance at the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2019 show at Fondation Maeght on Monday (May 28) in Saint-Paul-De-Vence, France.

Emma Stone: The actress stepped out in glittering trousers which played off of the contrasting collar in the white blazer. It was a different outfit compared to what everyone else wore. I fear that some might get hung up on the vintage references, namely, the oversized peaked collar and chunky gold belt.

Laura Harrier: The ‘BlacKkKlansman’ star showed off her pins in a mini which fused opposing patterns and was tied up with a corset waist. I was charmed by the more minimalist looks from the designer she wore to Cannes, and find myself missing some of that simplicity here.

Ruth Negga: Brightening things up, she stayed true to her retro-tinged, feminine style while celebrating the designer’s aesthetic in this sweet look. The way the pleats echo the three-dimensional detailing of the top is most attractive.

Jennifer Connelly In Louis Vuitton – ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

If you thought Jennifer Connelly would break her stride and do something different, like a tulle ball gown, for the Cannes Film Festival premiere of ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ this evening (May 15), you were in dreamland.

The actress was of course in Louis Vuitton, wearing a modified look from the Fall 2018 collection.

Some might regards this as ‘not-Cannes-worthy,’ but I love how it felt so right for the Star Wars premiere.

It has a futuristic vibe, and I have a sneaky feeling it was deliberately selected as it mildly resembles the iconic Stormtrooper.

So for that, I think it was a smart move. As a gown this wouldn’t have worked.

Louis Vuitton @ 2018 Met Gala

There were numerous ladies decked out in Louis Vuitton at the Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination Costume Institute Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City, joining Emma Stone.

Alicia Vikander: Sharp, sleek and modern spring to mind when gazing at the Swedish actress’s ensemble. The two-tone colour palette speaks to the theme, but it has been reimagined in a way that’s very representative of the designer.

Laura Harrier: Showing off her gorgeous gams, she was one of the few who opted for a short silhouette this evening. It’s a flirty look, but doesn’t express the theme or grandeur of the event.

Sienna Miller: The British beauty captured the angelic allure that was popular at the gala, but presented it with more structure than many. The chunky chains add a weighty edge against the sequined fabric and whimsical headpiece.

Jennifer Connelly In Louis Vuitton – ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ LA Premiere

Jennifer Connelly turned up at the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ premiere in LA on Monday (April 23). She joined Zoe SaldanaLaura Harrier and Danai Gurira.

No one will be surprised to hear that the actress donned a Louis Vuitton outfit, given that she always wears the designer.

I’m not going to fault her for playing favourites because it’s such a brilliant match. Nor, am I going to critique her on this occasion for wearing a complete Fall 2018 runway look.

When it works, it works.

The clean lines of the black leather skirt are juxtaposed with the delicate femininity of the pale yellow blouse. The shoes bring elements from both pieces while adding a futuristic note thanks to their colour.

Critics might deem the ensemble too casual for a premiere, but I think it was a wise choice given she was supporting husband Paul Bettany.
