Carey Mulligan Wore Prada To Netflix’s ‘Beef’ ATAS Event

Carey Mulligan attended Netflix’s Beef ATAS event in Burbank, California.

There has been a real appetite lately for fashion houses revisiting their archives in meaningful ways. Before Matthieu Blazy arrived at Chanel, the house regularly revisited signature designs from its history, Giorgio Armani launched the ARMANI/Archivio project, and Miuccia Prada continues to revisit fabrics and ideas from Prada’s past collections.

Just this week at Cannes, we saw Elodie wearing a custom Prada gown featuring the same silk jacquard foliage motif from the Prada Spring 1997 collection, and the print has resurfaced once again on Carey Mulligan.

I’m not at all surprised to see the British actress put her own spin on this archival Prada top by styling it with a sleek black pencil skirt instead of recreating the original runway look. The streamlined silhouette feels entirely in keeping with Carey’s understated approach to dressing, allowing the rich red print to remain the focus.
