Mia Goth Wore Versace, Thierry Mugler & Dior To The ‘Frankenstein’ Venice Film Festival Photocall and Premiere
Mia Goth has built a reputation on moody, often all-black red carpet looks, so her Venice Film Festival appearances alongside Frankenstein co-star Jacob Elordi came with a delightful surprise—black was out, and brown was in. And not just any brown, but rich, striking shades that gave her signature gothic allure a whole new energy.

Hotel Excelsior Arrival: Brown Debut
Mia signalled her shift in palette early with a custom Versace fit-and-flared mini dress, inspired by Gianni Versace’s Spring 1991 Couture collection. Styled with black accessories—Thistles the Coco sunglasses, a Celine mini Besace Clea bag, Christian Louboutin Me Dolly mules, and Tiffany & Co. jewels—the look was playful, unexpected, and refreshingly light compared to her usual red carpet moodiness, which I have always enjoyed.

Photocall: Vintage Mugler With a Twist
Mia went even lighter in a vintage ’90s Mugler mini dress, which Vestiaire Collective lists as Couture. The dress may have been vintage, but Mia wore it with a modern, confident ease. Black Aquazzura So Nude sandals wouldn’t have been my first choice, and her Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany ear clips and bracelet, plus a Tiffany Victoria® ring, added some sparkle.

Premiere: Brown Is The New Gothic
And then came the moment of relief for anyone tired of pleats, reverse collars and creases from Jonathan Anderson’s Dior early era: Mia in a Dior brown silk gown. While the skirt’s sculptural lines had a Robert Wun-esque quality (see Jodie Turner-Smith and Lizzo for reference), I love how the shade of brown carried the same mystery and allure as her beloved black—just softer, richer, and more surprising. Paired with brown Aquazzura So Nude sandals and a jaw-dropping Tiffany & Co. Archives necklace, it was proof that brown might just be Mia’s new power colour.
