Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge Wore Alessandra Rich To Ascot
The UK experienced its hottest day of the year so far, yet Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge looked as cool as a cucumber on the penultimate day of Ascot on Friday (June 17).
The Duchess wore an airy Alessandra Rich brown and cream polka dot dress styled with a coordinating Sally-Ann Provan hat accented with floral details.
Royal watchers likened her dress to a polka dot dress Diana, Princess of Wales wore to Ascot in 1988, while others compared her look to Julia Roberts’ character Vivian who wore a brown polka-dot dress to the races in the 1990 film ‘Pretty Woman.’
I’m confident Catherine was inspired by the former.
I love how the pleated neckline amplifies the feminine mood of the dress, and how she coordinated her accessories which included Gianvito Rossi pumps, so I was more excited about this look than her blue Alexander McQueen dress from earlier in the week.Â
