‘Armageddon Time’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup from the ‘Armageddon Time’ held during the 2022 Cannes Film Festival on Thursday (May 19) in France. 

Velvet? At Cannes? 

In this case, yes.  Sheila Atim can do no wrong in my eyes.  

The actress looked beautiful in this custom Prada rust orange, hand-pressed velvet dress embellished with a jewelled neckline which she styled with Chopard jewels.

I love how her makeup artist was inspired by her dress. 

Jasmine Tookes was in sparkling form wearing a Zuhair Murad Spring 2022 Couture beaded crop top and matching wrap skirt which looks like it was made for her.

Cindy Bruna looks beautiful as always, but I’ve kinda reached saturation point with these Giambattista Valli pink tulle, tired gowns.

I know many are tired of the Valentino Pink PP collection, but that has been a matter of months, these gowns have been repetitive for years now.

And there have been so many iterations.

Dua Lipa at the BRIT Awards 2018, Kacy Musgraves at the 2019 Oscars, Sofia Carson at the 2020 Golden Globes, Deepika Padukone at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival and let’s not forget the GBV x H&M collection.

I’m at the Jared Leto “enough is enough” stage with these gowns.

Chaumet jewels completed her look.

Remember when I said that I wish that Nieves Álvarez had worn a Stephané Rolland design yesterday?

I’m gonna take that back after seeing Alessandra Ambrosio in this Spring 2022 Haute Couture design.

But to be fair to Nieves, I don’t feel like she would’ve worn this to begin with.

Like I said on Oscar night, kudos for Alessandra for stepping away from the Julien Macdonald, Zuhair Murad typical dresses, but this ain’t it.

Rose Bertram looked gorgeous wearing this Hamda Al Fahim 2022 Couture green embellished gown.

I know not everyone is fans of the wet hair look, but it fits the mermaid vibe she may have been aiming for.

Casadei silver Blade ‘Penny Stargate’ sandals completed her look.

The voluminous, dramatic detail on Grace Elizabeth’s Ashi Studio Spring 2022 Couture look sold this to me, along with her Bvlgari necklace.

Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Catia’ sandals completed her look.

Kat Graham wore a custom-made Ashi Studio dress.

I love the sleekness of the skirt. Some might feel the exploding white tulle train was too much for this look, but this is Cannes.
