‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

The male cast of ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ attended the photocall alongside Jennifer Connelly on Wednesday (May 18).

Visually, this couldn’t be more satisfying for me considering there’s not a dark blue or black suit in sight.  I’m glad the fellas saved that for the evening.

Going from left to right we start with Greg Tarzan Davis.

His Etro Spring 2022 look should be the easiest for you all to recognise, as Charlie Puth wore the same ombre trousers to the Kid Choice Awards.

A cable knit turtleneck wouldn’t have been my first choice, and I would’ve forgiven Greg for not dipping further into this collection, but the black shoes kinda halted my enthusiasm for this look.

Had it worn the full runway look I would need resuscitating.

David Yurman jewels completed his look.

Etro Spring 2022

Lewis Pullman proves that you can’t go wrong with a light sandy neutral linen suit which he matched with suede Chelsea boots.

Glen Powell wore a light blue suit which was a cool, crisp statement of intent.

Danny Ramirez might just be my favourite in this Fear of God suit.  I’m not usually a fan of grey, but the lapelless jacket and matching shoes sold the look to me.

Zendaya wore the same lapelless jacket to the HBO Max FYC Event For ‘Euphoria’ last month.

Fear of God Fall 2022

Jay Ellis said to himself prior to leaving the US, “where can I wear this pistachio-ice-cream-hued, flared-trouser Casablanca suit?

The right answer was Cannes of course.  I’m glad he gets it. The Memphis blazer with the wave stripes adds a cool, almost retro touch to this look.

Jon Hamm wore a Paul Smith checked suit with a tailored pink shirt, while Miles Teller wore a Dior by Kim Jones look styled with Dior ‘Carlo’ shoes, a Chopard timepiece and David Yurman jewels.

I’m kinda bummed that Miles played it safe by his standards.

For the premiere they gents joined a Louis Vuitton-clad Jennifer Connelly on the red carpet with Tom Cruise joining the cast photo in Armani.

Glen Powell was looking as sharp as ever in Brioni styled with Montblanc cufflinks and Christian Louboutin ‘Greggo Orlato’ shoes.

Jay Ellis really stands out for me again wearing his Versace tuxedo styled with Christian Louboutin ‘Vatik’ shoes and a Bvlgari brooch.

Greg Tarzan Davis opted to spice things up again wearing this tangerine Dolce & Gabbana suit style with a Chopard watch.

In this case the bow tie and the black shoes work, as they prevent him looking like Jim Carrey in ‘Dumb & Dumber’ during that wedding scene.

Lewis Pullman was looking cool in his navy blue jacquard suit style with Christian Louboutin ‘Derbytoto’ shoes.

While Jon Hamm looks better when he wears classic tuxedos like this Fendi Mens offering.

I’m starting to believe that I imagined a time when Miles Teller’s style was on par with Ryan Gosling, because this Celine suit just isn’t working for me.

I don’t like the colour, or how crumpled it looks.

Keleigh Sperry fared much better in her custom Celine gown styled with Chopard jewels.
