‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup from the premiere of ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ during the 2022 Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday (May 18) in France.
Looking at Adriana Lima wearing this custom Balmain belly-baring gown, you must be thinking this is the ‘Rihanna Effect.”
Granted, Rihanna is not the first celebrity to wear “traditional” maternity outfits on the red carpet, but she did set pregnancy style ablaze in terms of not hiding, rather than accommodating.
Often, we didn’t know a celebrity is even pregnant until they cupped their bumps on the red carpet.
That has all changed thanks to Rihanna.
Chopard jewels completed Adriana’s look.

Wow. This. Is. Cannes.
Plenty of volume. Bold colour. Bolder details. Jasmine Tookes totally nailed everything I love about the red carpet at Cannes wearing this yellow Tony Ward Couture gown.
Messika High Jewelry completed her look.

Josephine Skriver also never disappoints at this event.
The Danish model also wore Tony Ward Couture, but there was a lot more drama to be had thanks to the classic black and white combination, the structure of the skirt and the length of the train.
I’m not always the biggest fan of black gowns at Cannes, yet this one blew me away.
Messika High Jewelry completed her look.

I have to say I was a little underwhelmed by Toni Garrn in this Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini Fall 2022 gown.
Her style has always been super sleek, so I kinda wish this piece didn’t have the feather embellished shoulders.
What I do love is the moiré silk fabric.
If you’re having a case of deja dress, that’s because this was first worn by Amy Forsyth to the 2022 Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
Messika High Jewelry completed her look.

Emilia Schüle was back on the red carpet wearing this Gucci Pre-Fall 2022 look which I loved in terms of bringing something a little more directional to Cannes.
I know a lot of you didn’t like this ensemble when it was presented by Simone Ashley back in March.
And while I like both outings, I prefer Emilia’s styling when it comes to the gloves.
Bvlgari jewels completed her look.

Kat Graham can always be relied upon to give us drama, and she did so in this Dior Haute Couture red tulle gown.
Some might feel that she is drowning in tulle, but that may be because some of the impact is lost against the red carpet.
Chaumet jewels completed her look.

I was really surprised to see British TV presenter Rochelle Humes wearing this Celia Kritharioti sheer dress as she usually loves colour, but perhaps that’s just her early morning TV show style.
I won’t take away from the fact that she looks stunning on her red carpet debut as the UK L’Oréal ambassador.

It appeared to be “red dress” Dior day for this event, as Isabelle Fuhrman also looked beautiful wearing a Dior red crepe silk dress.

But Joanna Kulig didn’t get the “red dress” memo, as she presented an all-white Dior silk suit.
This won’t be to everyone’s liking – unless you have a sweet tooth – but this style of Nicole + Felicia Couture gown is very much in keeping with Leonie Hanne’s style, especially at Cannes.
My personal opinion is that she finds another note on that banjo, as it’s getting a little repetitive to present the same style of dress in different colours each year.

There is something about Liza Koshy’s hair and makeup that isn’t helping to sell this Georges Hobeika Fall 2021 gown to me, which is disappointing as I adore this embellished piece on the model.

Sonia Amar gives us a bias cut, backless moment in Alberta Ferretti.

You’ll either feel that Pom Klementieff’s biker babe Alexander McQueen look isn’t quite right for Cannes, or feel that this is perfectly in tune with her style and would prefer this over a sugary confection.
