Front Row @ Louis Vuitton Spring 2022

Nicolas Ghesquière presented the Louis Vuitton Spring 2022 collection on Tuesday (October 5) at the Louvre Museum in Paris, with a jam-packed front row full of familiar faces, mixed with a handful of newbies.

As we would expect, Cynthia Erivo – who wore Louis Vuitton to the Emmy Awards last month – stood out in this front row wearing the most colourful look from the Resort 2022 collection.

The colour wasn’t limited to her dress as she wore the most vibrant blue and green eye makeup.

You can always rely on Cynthia.

It may feel like Gemma Chan is a Louis Vuitton newbie, but she has worn the brand during her ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ promo tour.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll be lusting over her cape coat.  Yes, might be deemed slightly impractical due to the short sleeves, but the idea is to use the coat for layering. I have been seeing these coats everywhere including Zara and H&M.

I really enjoyed this leather look from Gemma which sees her take a side step outside her comfort-zone, without going too deep into the avant garde world of LV.

I kinda don’t want to say this too loudly, but Jennifer Connelly is selling those Resort 2022 boots with this look. I always had a feeling that she would. 

This is why she is the ultimate LV woman.

I don’t think many could pull off that jacket either.

Alicia Vikander always looks good in Louis Vuitton too.  But am I alone in feeling that she wears a different version of the same look for the front row?  I feel like I’ve seen this before in black.

As you know Eiza Gonzalez is my girl.  I’ve really enjoyed her mixing things up during her recent promo tours.  This Louis Vuitton trapeze coat wouldn’t have been my pick for her, but that’s the beauty of where she is style-wise right now, in that she’s not predictable.

Regina King is having quite a moment with over-sized blazers.

I think I am more enamoured with the accessories rather than the look itself, as the rolled shorts are throwing me off.

Maria Bakalova does her best to make us forget her Louis Vuitton Cannes Film Festival photocall look with this colourful coat styled with a green monogrammed clutch.

I’m loving everything from the knees up. 

While I did campaign to never see this Louis Vuitton top on the red carpet again thanks to Naomi Osaka and Kate Hudson, I have to admit I actually like it here on Stacy Martin.  I think this is due to the draped sleeves not being at the forefront.

Tom Daley’s look was a little disjointed to me and this is mostly because of the shoes.  They feel too formal for the track-pants, and studded jacket.

Cody Fern was more adventurous in the footwear department with his baby pink wellies.

I just can’t with Isabelle Huppert.  The way she always looks effortless, cool, and elegant blows me away every damn time.

Catherine Deneuve managed to find a look within Louis Vuitton’s pieces that doesn’t seem too out there for her style.

In terms of this look, Chloe Bailey was trying a little too hard for me.

I would’ve loved to have seen her rock one of the more fun pieces, as she has the ability to make them work.

Liya Kebede naturally makes this Louis Vuitton look work, when I wasn’t too fond of a similar look on Léa Seydoux this week.

I love how easily Venus Williams was rocking this ’80s inspired look.  

There are too many random elements on Phoebe Dynevor’s look for me to get on board with this.

Remove the straps, the lock, and the waistband, and I’ll look at this again.

I know a lot of you feel like LV boots with a feminine dress is a bit contrived, but Ana de Armas seems to be having fun with this look.

When it comes to Samara Weaving’s look I’m having a less is more moment.

I think the boots were overkill despite this giving me ’80 and ’90s pop star vibes.

Laura Harrier’s look also felt a little disjointed.  The skirt doesn’t really go with the top and the boots don’t go with the skirt.

I was going to say that Natalia Vodianova played it safe with the coat, but then I clocked the boots.
