Penelope Cruz Wore Chanel & Chanel Haute Couture For The ‘Madres Paralelas’ Venice Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Like Isabelle Huppert, Penelope Cruz gave us three looks on the opening day of the 2021 Venice Film Festival on Wednesday (September 1), while promoting her new film, ‘Madres Paralelas.’

The Spanish actress arrived in Venice wearing a Chanel Resort 2020 look, with a Chanel Resort 2022 look following for the film’s official photocall.

I love the first look for its effortlessly smart elegance, whereas the second has a little bit too much going on.

I think the photocall look would’ve worked for me if the jacket had been shorter.  Also, I can’t say I’m a fan of the fringed detailing either.

Penelope’s style is no fuss, yet there was a lot of fussiness going on with this second look.

However, I think I Kristen Stewart had sold this look to me if she wore it as we see it on the runway.

For the ‘Madres Paralelas’ premiere the mood became more regal, as the actress glided down the red carpet wearing a Chanel Fall 2021 Haute Couture gown.

In this case the details from the flutter sleeves, bows and contrasting petticoat accented with petal flounces added so much drama to this look.

This twisted romantic tale continued with her makeup, which some might find too dark, but I think it complements the gown, and is perfect for the forthcoming Fall season.

Penelope’s Chanel looks often bring mixed reactions, and I’m sure that will apply to the third look in particular.
