Serena Williams For Stuart Weitzman 2020 Campaign

I was very excited to see Serena Williams unveiled at the new face for Stuart Weitzman.

The tennis star follows in the footsteps of renowned supermodels such as Kate Moss, Gisele Bündchen, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid.

Those are – metaphorically – big shoes to fill, but judging by these images (which see the athlete look striking in these black and white shot by Ethan James Green), she was born ready for a major campaign.

We’ve seen Serena grace the red carpet wearing Haute Couture from Atelier Versace and Armani Prive, but this is her first major ad campaign with a fashion brand.

With the Wimbledon championship cancelled this year, it kinda feels symbolic that she appears in the campaign clad in all white.

A white Dream Bandits bodysuit is the mainstay of this campaign, with a variety of matching white blazers, trench coats and of course a selection of Stuart Weitzman shoes.

Stuart Weitzman noted on social media that their decision to enlist the tennis star in this campaign was built around “the notion of women standing as pillars of hope and optimism for their communities.”

On Instagram, Serena shared more the collection itself. “I worked and finished this exciting project with Stuart Weitzman at the beginning of this year and now we can’t hold it in anymore!”

“I hope through this campaign and Stuart Weitzman’s partnership with @VitalVoices, we can share a message of hope and optimism, and celebrate women and their ability to lift up their communities.”

Vital Voices is a non-profit dedicated to investing in female leaders, and they currently have a Global Partnership with the high-end footwear brand.

This is such a powerful campaign, and to learn that is it was based on female empowerment, spreading strength and positivity makes this even more uplifting.
