Margot Robbie In Chanel – 2020 SAG Awards

Margot Robbie In Chanel - 2020 SAG Awards

Margot Robbie may already be something of a winner simply because of her ‘Bombshell’ nomination at the 2020 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 19) in LA.

But the same cannot be said for her ensemble.

All I can seem to say is: What happened?

If her 2020 Golden Globes look offered simple elegance, this Chanel Resort 2020 top and skirt styled with Chanel Fine Jewelry was the exact opposite.

I know this was supposed to be girlishly charming. But the plaid and the frills just fell flat and almost seemed a bit sloppy, and ironically enough, her hair followed suit.

Good on her, not event appropriate. A perfect hair bun with a long cloak could save the look.

Margot Robbie as a Chanel ambassador never made sense to me. She’s very beautiful, but she doesn’t fit the Chanel aesthetic. I think she’d be a better fit for Celine, Dior, or maybe even Saint Laurent.

Hate this. She looks ready to go to a hoedown. That face is gorgeous.

It must take a lot of effort to make a woman like Margot look bad, and here we are. I hate the dress and that pattern as others have said is too casual, looks like a uniform or picnic table material. The styling is sloppy too.

Margot can do so so much better than this. I love her but this is not a good look.

Beautiful woman with questionable clothes choices, this is not event appropriate and she is not Chanel girl.

What the hell happend to her hair??

  8. JessHarps January 20, 2020 at 7:52 am #

I like the hair, it’s different for her. But she is too busty and boxy for this. Not a disaster but a wasted outing for the dress

    Underwhelming and not event appropriate

She wore a pretty green Chanel gown to the Producers Guid Awards the night before. Why didn’t she save that for that SAGs? This choice of gown is mind baffling! What was she thinking? And we can’t blame Chanel in this case. Virginie is creating plenty of red carpet ready gowns (unlike Karl who’s designs were trickier) so no excuses IMO.

Her stylist hates her, this woman is too stunning to wear such bad clothes so consistently.

Perhaps it would not been that bad a look if she came without the hippie necklace.

Oh god, what did she do? This is all wrong. Nothing works here, too bad.

This is a dress for brunch, a very expensive brunch, but brunch nonetheless.

  15. Guest January 20, 2020 at 3:41 am #

    Too beach-y!

  16. Guest January 20, 2020 at 3:31 am #

Goodness! How? With a woman this drop-dead beautiful?

Kate Young strikes again with her terrible taste.

This is the worst look of the night that I have seen so far. Messy and awful dress. Horrible hair and her facial expression says she agrees.

I truly cannot find one single good thing to say about this. Disaster.

I think they were going for a look with the tartan print and all the necklaces, your traditional Channel repertoire but between the waist needing a bit more cinching, the outfit could’ve worked a bit better. I think the look is least elevated because of the most unfortunate hair that looks like a 5 year old did it. Lucky she’s still has a beautiful face.

I agree. The look on paper looks nice. It’s the execution and the fit…

It does read casual. Its for a light spring daytime event perhaps?
    idk, just seems meh.

Frumpy. Margot is so beautiful and this is just getting in the way.

  23. Guest January 20, 2020 at 1:45 am #

    Too casual
This would have been perfect for the indie spirit awards
    She looks under dressed.
