Deepika Padukone Brings Black Magic To The 2019 Star Screen Awards In Alex Perry

Deepika Padukone Brings Black Magic To The 2019 Star Screen Awards In Alex Perry

The 2019 Star Screen Awards saw Deepika Padukone arrive in style on the red carpet on Sunday (December 8) in Mumbai, with a new shorter haircut, teased with highlights.

Deepika is a woman who loves colour, but on this occasion she was striking in black.

A black gown from Alex Perry’s Resort 2020 collection proves, once again, that the Australian designer is the master at creating striking silhouettes.

Some might feel that the one-sleeve, bold shoulder design is dated, but I’m here for the fitted waist, dramatic sleeves that cascade to the ground, and the overall sleekness so it all.

The look feels so clean and elegant, plus it’s great to see Deepika back to winning ways as her 2019 Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival and Grazia Millenial Awards looks were not it.

    Thankfully… I think she’s on track.

Nothing groundbreaking but she does look good and very elegant.
The hair is the letdown here. This look needs a sleeker do.

So elegant. And I love her hair down.

    I love this!
It’s nothing groudbreaking but it works perfectly. She looks so sexy and chic.

    Alex perry and strong shoulders.

She looks sleek and classic. I just love the elegance of it. I dont get any dated vibe to it. Just gorgeousness.

Something about this is not working for me. Maybe it’s just a little too Morticia Addams?

I think I am tired of black dresses and then BAM, something like this comes along and reminds me how stunning they can be. Gorgeous!

      I feel exactly the same

This is so clean-cut and beautiful, I don’t even mind the simple color black. She looks so statuesque.

I wish her hair was up or just back like the model’s hairstyle. The dress is nice enough and it’s better than her wearing something big but then not working the outfit like with that green Ashi Studios look

Alex Perry is similar to Christian Siriano in that the fabrics of his dresses do not look luxe, but despite that his dresses are still smashes on the red carpet.

      Shut up meg.
U dont know fashion neither do u have taste.
U dont know luxury, u dont know what is classy even if it hit u in the face.

Maybe because both these designers fare among the very few who got the message that not all women are a size minus 10 and 6ft9. Their designs suit every body type and I applaud them for that. This generation is not getting thinner or taller so they might as well work towards that.

What’s your problem hun? Why are you always throwing shades and spreading hatred? This world doesn’t need another racist. Please solve your domestic problems before showing hatred in this peaceful blog.

      Bish I’m black from Nigeria

Love the dress, hate the hair.

  13. Guest December 11, 2019 at 12:52 am #

This is way better than the two looks referred to in the post so it’s a win. She looks good but the dress is dated.

A much welcome change for Deepika. Not a huge fan of her princess moments and much prefer her in sleek looks. She looks great here.
