2019 AFI Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The 2019 AFI Awards was a packed house with several more ladies taking to the red carpet this afternoon (January 4), to receive their accolades.

Elsie Fisher: This young lady never fails to put a smile on my face. Yet to don a dress on the red carpet this calendar year, I’m wondering if that will change for the Globes on Sunday. Her signature trousered style was looking very bright in this M Missoni Resort 2019 outfit, which was of course styled with her other signature: a Kate Spade New York bag.

Emma Stone: While I was tempted to say, “thank you, next”, to this Louis Vuitton Spring 2019 look, when I paused to take a moment, this look isn’t actually so bad. What lets it down are the black slingbacks. I wish she’s opted for the ‘Overnight Cross’ sandals, but thankful she didn’t go for the LV Archlight boots.

Keri Russell: Dressed in Dior, I found myself a little underwhelmed by this offering. Usually I’m mesmerized by Keri on the red carpet, but I’m not getting any goosebumps today.

Yalitza Aparicio: I adore the lilac hue of her dress, but I’m thrown by the fit and the uncomfortable the cut between the bodice and sleeves.

Indya Moore: I love how this Lorod Resort 2019 shirt dress feels like a mix of a carpenter and mechanic overalls. Of course a mechanic wouldn’t style his look with a Louis Vuitton bag and metallic sandals.

Susan Kelechi Watson: I’m always swept away by Maria Lucia Hohan’s exquisite, ultra-feminine designs. This is no exception.  Bronzed accessories really enhanced the beauty of it all.

Linda Cardellini: Is this Giorgio Armani veering down to twee -territory?

Octavia Spencer: The actress served up no surprises in her black Tadashi Shoj dress from the Fall 2018 collection.

Marina De Tavira: I’m filled with intrigue when it comes to the feather accents on Marina’s strapless gown. Not sure if it’s in a good or bad way yet.
