2019 AFI Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon Features 2019 AFI Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The 2019 AFI Awards was a packed house with several more ladies taking to the red carpet this afternoon (January 4), to receive their accolades.

Elsie Fisher: This young lady never fails to put a smile on my face. Yet to don a dress on the red carpet this calendar year, I’m wondering if that will change for the Globes on Sunday. Her signature trousered style was looking very bright in this M Missoni Resort 2019 outfit, which was of course styled with her other signature: a Kate Spade New York bag.

Emma Stone: While I was tempted to say, “thank you, next”, to this Louis Vuitton Spring 2019 look, when I paused to take a moment, this look isn’t actually so bad. What lets it down are the black slingbacks. I wish she’s opted for the ‘Overnight Cross’ sandals, but thankful she didn’t go for the LV Archlight boots.

Keri Russell: Dressed in Dior, I found myself a little underwhelmed by this offering. Usually I’m mesmerized by Keri on the red carpet, but I’m not getting any goosebumps today.

Mena Suvari In Maria Lucia Hohan – Last Chance For Animals’ Hosts Annual Celebrity Benefit

Mena Suvari In Maria Lucia Hohan - Last Chance For Animals' Hosts Annual Celebrity Benefit

Mena Suvari attended the Last Chance For Animals’ Annual Celebrity Benefit at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday (October 20) in Beverly Hills, California.

The actress wore a apricot Maria Lucia Hohan gown styled with gold clutch, Borgioni diamond earrings and ring and a Maxior sapphire ring.

I’m not really that crazy about the dress due the sheer panel on the skirt, plus I think had this been in emerald green or violet, this would’ve had more of an impact on Mena.

Unicef Summer Gala

Unicef Summer Gala

The red carpet was jammed pack with more gorgeous girls who joined Rita Ora, Emily Ratajkowski and Sofia Carson for the Unicef Summer Gala on Friday (August 10) in Porto Cervo, Italy.

Cindy Bruna: The model may be wearing a Balmain Fall 2018 dress, but all I’m getting is long lean leg envy.

Jasmine Tookes: Aadnevik was inspired by swan lake for his Fall 2018 collection, yet it appears that Jasmine was channeling her inner Southern belle, Susanna Drake (Elizabeth Taylor) in ‘Raintree County.’ Chopard jewels completed her look.

Melissa Satta-Boateng: The was no need for a disco-ball at this event, as the Italian TV presenter prepared to dazzling in Elisabetta Franchi.

Kelly Rowland In Maria Lucia Hohan – Tank and Zena Foster’s Wedding

Kelly Rowland posted an image on Instagram before the wedding of R&B star Tank and Zena Foster this past weekend.

As we’re melting in this heatwave here in London, I’m instantly drawn to the floaty, airy nature of Kelly’s Maria Lucia Hohan cold-shoulder dress.

Captivating event-ready pieces have always been Maria Lucia Hohan’s calling card, and this gunmetal sheer tiered dress exudes delicate charm.

One can’t ignore Kelly’s L’Dezen by Payal Shah diamond earrings, or her natural beauty.

2018 ESPYS

There were many more red carpet looks to be had at the 2018 ESPYS on Wednesday (July 18) in Los Angeles, California, joining the likes of Alison Brie, Ciara and Eiza Gonzalez.

Sloane Stephens: If you thought designers had run out of ways to reinvent the blazer, look no further than Solane’s flame-red Alexander McQueen piece, which looks like it has a built in waistcoat. While the shoes were a bit of a mismatch for me, I do love the overall ease at how the tennis ace presented this uber cool look.

Ibtihaj Muhammad: The Olympic fencer looked breath-taking in a floral Jovani gown. The train, flowers, and that smile make this such a charming look.

Parisa Fitz-Henley In Maria Lucia Hohan – ‘Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance’ LA Premiere

I was swooning the minute I saw Parisa Fitz-Henley at the LA premiere of ‘Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance’ on Thursday (May 3), in which the actress plays Meghan Markle.

Where to even begin?

The shimmering, rose-touched fuchsia hue.
The figure-flattering criss-cross waist.
The flirtation of the open back.
The contrast of strength and softness between the bold shoulder and the draped sleeve.

Shall I go on? Because I could.

This was a joyous look that was easy to adore, and Parisa wore it with such radiance. Would you agree?

‘Scandal’ Series Finale

It was the end of an era as celebrities stepped out for the ‘Scandal’ series finale live reading on Thursday (April 19) in Los Angeles, California.

Kerry Washington: Always a fan of cutting edge silhouettes, the star contrasted a sequined crop top with billowing pants from August Getty Atelier. The armor-like paillettes against the graceful drape of the trousers was an unexpected but arresting mix. The trousers likely pay tribute to the shade her character frequently wore. It’s a shame they’re dragging on the ground.

Bellamy Young: Kerry’s co-star was clad in a Winonah jumpsuit. The colours might be subdued but they had a striking effect thanks to the crushed fabric. When the light hit it, it had such dimension. The plunging neckline added some sensuality against the long sleeves and flowing trousers.
