Pre-Grammys Weekend Roundup

This pre-Grammys weekend roundup left us with a motley collection of entrances in New York City that all appeared to be reading the same WDOTW memo.

Hailey Baldwin: Hailey joined another Hailee (Baldwin) at the Republic Records pre-Grammys event on Friday (January 26). However, they couldn’t have been dressed more unlike each other, as this pink Off-White Spring 2018 ensemble showed designer Virgil Abloh’s luxury streetwear vibe—done with a bubblegum ’80s twist. Jennifer Fisher jewels rounded out the directional look.

Priyanka Chopra:
With a rare misstep at the GRAMMY Salute to Industry Icons Honoring Jay-Z on Saturday (January 27), Priyanka lost me completely with this Ester Abner Spring 2018 outfit that suffered not only in fit but also in execution. All I was left with was an ill-conceived, messy bathrobe-boudoir vibe.

Julia Michaels: Also at the GRAMMY Salute event, Julia fared only marginally better in this Yanina Fall 2017 Couture frock. Exposed shoulder pads, blinding-white cuffs, and an unusual take on lining left a lot to be desired in the execution department.

Winnie Harlow: I’m afraid Winnie didn’t redeem this roundup, joining Julia and Priyanka at the GRAMMY Salute with an even more exposed number. This barely-there August Getty Atelier sheer lace gown is nothing we haven’t seen before, of course, but that doesn’t make it right.

Maren Morris: That this Julien Macdonald Spring 2018 frock was the highlight of this pre-GRAMMY roundup isn’t saying much, but at least the fringed number fit properly and left a bit more to the imagination.

Bebe Rexha: Rounding out the revealing sheer brigade at the GRAMMY Salute, Bebe donned a Thai Nguyen Atelier Fall 2017 figure-hugging gown that perhaps felt even more dated on account of her side-parted platinum locks and bronzed makeup.
