Giorgio Armani’s 40th Anniversary Celebration

Giorgio Armani's 40th Anniversary Celebration

A glorious guest list attended Giorgio Armani’s 40th Anniversary Silos Opening and Cocktail Reception on Thursday (April 30) in Milan, Italy. With Armani ensembles at every turn, sleekness and chicness were the order of the day.

Cate Blanchett: The queen again reigned supreme in this stunning Armani Privé Spring 2015 cream suit architecturally punctuated by a black obi-style sash. Radiantly luminous makeup and a softly swept-back ’do projected even more beauty on top of elegance here.

Chris Pine: I loved the sense of ease that characterized Chris’s polished Giorgio Armani gray suit with lavender shirt and dark tie. That he appears to be wearing his loafers sans socks only contributes to the effortlessly handsome look on this occasion.

Hilary Swank: Her sculptural, asymmetric Armani Privé Fall 2014 cocktail dress was a work of art with red floral embroidery and netted overlay for a ladylike yet bold statement.

Aishwarya Rai: Simple yet striking, the Indian actress combined the mannish lines of a Giorgio Armani black blazer with the feminine allure of the long dress and patterned stilettos.

Zhang Ziyi: As much as I wanted to like this Giorgio Armani look, there was something unfortunately awkward about the pairing of the sheer grey sweater over the tie-wrap skirting. A sleeker black top would have been preferred, especially given those gigantic doorknocker earrings.

Kasia Smutniak: Providing a lesson in androgynous allure, Kasia struck a successful balance between the masculine-feminine interplay of the Giorgio Armani jacket, silken top, and cropped trousers. The ensemble is striking for its relaxed tailoring and unforced sophistication, with a deep ruby lip, contrasting clutch, and black-and-white shoes elevating her minimalistic look even more.

Sarah Gadon: The actress was lovely in a Giorgio Armani embellished frock that featured a light, diaphanous quality intensified by her oxblood lip.

Eva Riccobono
: Perhaps the most experimental look of the bunch, the Italian star wore this little embellished number like a champ. But as much as I like an interesting, directional look, I cannot get behind the sheer top covered in a conglomeration of curled plastic ribbons.

Odeya Rush: The starlet wore a Giorgio Armani cocktail frock in a bold and beautiful shade of electric blue. Slightly compromising the effect, the black handbag and peep-toe platforms took the dress into more average territory.
