A glorious guest list attended Giorgio Armani’s 40th Anniversary Silos Opening and Cocktail Reception on Thursday (April 30) in Milan, Italy. With Armani ensembles at every turn, sleekness and chicness were the order of the day.
Cate Blanchett: The queen again reigned supreme in this stunning Armani Privé Spring 2015 cream suit architecturally punctuated by a black obi-style sash. Radiantly luminous makeup and a softly swept-back ’do projected even more beauty on top of elegance here.
Chris Pine: I loved the sense of ease that characterized Chris’s polished Giorgio Armani gray suit with lavender shirt and dark tie. That he appears to be wearing his loafers sans socks only contributes to the effortlessly handsome look on this occasion.
Hilary Swank: Her sculptural, asymmetric Armani Privé Fall 2014 cocktail dress was a work of art with red floral embroidery and netted overlay for a ladylike yet bold statement.
Aishwarya Rai: Simple yet striking, the Indian actress combined the mannish lines of a Giorgio Armani black blazer with the feminine allure of the long dress and patterned stilettos.
Zhang Ziyi: As much as I wanted to like this Giorgio Armani look, there was something unfortunately awkward about the pairing of the sheer grey sweater over the tie-wrap skirting. A sleeker black top would have been preferred, especially given those gigantic doorknocker earrings.
Kasia Smutniak: Providing a lesson in androgynous allure, Kasia struck a successful balance between the masculine-feminine interplay of the Giorgio Armani jacket, silken top, and cropped trousers. The ensemble is striking for its relaxed tailoring and unforced sophistication, with a deep ruby lip, contrasting clutch, and black-and-white shoes elevating her minimalistic look even more.
Sarah Gadon: The actress was lovely in a Giorgio Armani embellished frock that featured a light, diaphanous quality intensified by her oxblood lip.
Eva Riccobono: Perhaps the most experimental look of the bunch, the Italian star wore this little embellished number like a champ. But as much as I like an interesting, directional look, I cannot get behind the sheer top covered in a conglomeration of curled plastic ribbons.
Odeya Rush: The starlet wore a Giorgio Armani cocktail frock in a bold and beautiful shade of electric blue. Slightly compromising the effect, the black handbag and peep-toe platforms took the dress into more average territory.

Cate should earn a place on bdotw for this. Hilary is very pretty too.
The three in that first panel are just everything.
Cate, followed in some distance by Kasia. Hilary is interesting. I like her style, there often is something off for me, but it feels genuine.
Aishwarya Rai and Kasia Smutniak are wearing the same shoes, right?
PS: Excited for Met Ball tonight!! First confirmations are happening! : )
Chris Pine looks as beautiful as ever.
The only look I like for the ladies is Kasia Smutniak’s. I wouldn’t change a thing, especially that beautiful dark lipstick.
The rest is pretty meh.
Cate is flawless. Love it! I like Hilary & Kasia too.
chris pine looks so handsome, he is always so well dressed! for the ladies kasia wins for me with queen cate a very close second.
Everyone looks pretty good. I like Kasia the best.
The first three BDOTW
Love(!) Kasia’s look from head-to-toe. Perfect fit, perfect styling, she looks amazing and BDOTW-worthy. Cate and Chris are among my favourites.
Totally agree.
Cate is mesmerizing, wonderful soft beauty look for her, the suit is a bit “karate chic” but she still stands out. Her, Hilary and Kasia are the best here for me.
Everyone looks great (except for Eva). They made an effort for Giorgio Armani. Such a stylish event
Not crazy about any of these looks. Chris Pine looks the best to me
+1
+2, all rather “meh” except for Chris. I expect better fit and tailoring from Armani and that still shows with menswear.
wow…It sure was a well-dressed event. queen CATE wins undoubtedly. Kasia was just equally chic.
Speaking of well-dressed events. The 2015 MET GALA is happening today!! It’s almost midnight in the UK when the gala starts, so i’m a bit concerned. Will you cover this event yourself,FC?
Overall a pretty well dressed event – if you ignore Eva Riccobono…
My favorite is Cate as well, followed by Hilary and Kasia.
I was going to say that everyone looked very elegant until I saw Eva Riccobono.
Cate, Hilary, Kasia and Chris are the best.
Cate Blanchett and Kasia Smutniak are so chic. The others are without praise or blame.
Cate and Kasia win it for me amongst this bunch. Kasia’s soft and fluid look and Cate’s more structured and directional suit are head and shoulders above the rest. If I had to choose an absolute winner, I’d go with Cate – that flawless hair and makeup elevates the look even further. Truly radiant.
Cate looks the best here, naturally. Odeya would have had a really great look if she had left the black accessories at home. I really like Swank’s dress but the shoes just don’t work for me.
I love Aishwarya’s look the most. Quite simple yet captivating. She’s the quintessential Armani woman.
Overall very stylish event, Cate wins for me, Kasia is a close second, nothing beats a great white suit!
I like Hilary and Kasia’s look.
