Taylor Swift In Elie Saab – 2015 Grammy Awards

Taylor Swift In Elie Saab - 2015 Grammy Awards

Taylor Swift was a goddess in green at the 2015 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 8) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The ‘Shake It Off’ multiple nominee selected an Elie Saab Spring 2015 shimmering, teal ombre gown with shoulder cutouts.

With a slight, playful nod to the mullet-dress approach, the design received a dose of Grammy-worthy edge by virtue of the sexy short skirt underneath the ball gown that flashed the singer’s enviable pins.

Contrasting the turquoise tones with a pop of unexpected colour, she wore magenta-pink sandals and finished the look with matching green gemstone Lorraine Schwartz earrings.

A red lip would have no place here, so I’m glad she skipped her onetime signature colour for a nude gloss.

I think the color is gorgeous, but there is just one idea too many here; the high-low, the neckline, the contrasting sandals, the earrings… Although I appreciate the effort and the attempt at novelty, I would have preferred either as a mini or a maxi – possibly in a lighter fabric, as the drapery on the skirt feels too stiff for my taste.

Not a fan of the contrasting sandals, otherwise: perfect. It’s so easy for her to be best dressed at this event, the standard is appallingly low.

That dress is heinous. The colour, the sparkle, the short-skirt thing that is going on. Mystified by the love for it.

She was my favorite. I love everything about this look even pink the sandals! BDOTW worthy and depending on how the year goes maybe even BDOTY worthy.

  5. Sim February 9, 2015 at 11:21 #

I love this from head to toe!

  6. jacqui February 9, 2015 at 10:48 #

Everything from the neck down works for me. However, I feel like her hair is letting her down. It is always the same. Always. Dissappointing.

Not usually a fan of her style but I must admit she looks gorgeous! Perfect color for her and loving the shoes!! The clash of colors works for me here!

The dress color is already attractive enough, so it would have been much better to keep it minimal on the accesories and shoe departments. Those earrings are out of place as much as those lovely purple sandals that I would adore in other circumstances. I would have prefer small diamond rings and maybe sandals on the same color of the dress, for letting it shine as it should be.

super cute. I want her earrings

Love the idea of pop of pink via the shoes, but these particular sandals don’t work. She looks amazing from the ankles up.

Gorgeous! The colour is stunning and she pulls off the dramatic silhouette well. Best she’s ever looked IMO

  13. Dhppy February 9, 2015 at 06:27 #

The dress is okay, but somehow still boring besides its dramatic cut… and though a welcome change of color, those shoes aren’t helping.

  14. Valissa February 9, 2015 at 05:22 #

Very very beautiful! It’s not usually a gown that I would like but Taylor has a way with dresses…she just wears them really really well!
I even like the shoes with them, they add an unexpected yet striking pop of colour. Love it!

  15. sam February 9, 2015 at 03:48 #

Oh my god i love the colour, the gown and everything even the shoes. The contrasting colour between the shoes and gown is very intriguing and stunning, but i wish the shoes are less heavy

I love EVERYTHING about this look. It’s young, fresh, stylish, interesting, colorful, bold and perfect for the person wearing it. Personally, I think her shoes couldn’t have been more perfect for the dress, silver strappy sandals would have been a very predictable and slightly boring choice.

  17. Bailey February 9, 2015 at 03:07 #

Love the dress, especially the colour, but I’m not loving it on Taylor. Not suited to her and she doesn’t pull it off to me

  18. pinksugar February 9, 2015 at 03:05 #

I don’t hate this but I don’t love it either. I prefer Taylor with a little sparkle and shine. I can appreciate the color scheme here, great idea pairing the purple sandals with this.

  19. Ashlee February 9, 2015 at 02:25 #

Wow I just love everything about this look!

  20. Pedro February 9, 2015 at 02:25 #

I’m in love with this look from h2t!

The color contrast is pure perfection… BDOTW

      + 2 This is enchanting

I’m torn because I love the contrasting colors and overall I like the dress, accessories, and makeup, but there’s something about the top part that keeps me from loving it. Perhaps if the neckline were lower? It makes the top of her chest look elongated and narrow and just…off

  22. Nat39 February 9, 2015 at 02:08 #

The sandals are a bit chunky and I’m not too fond of the hairstyle but I like the colour and the drama.

    • Patricia February 9, 2015 at 14:59 #

Yes, my only issue here is those heavy sandals…and maybe the hairstyle far too casual? Don’t really know but it bothers me.

  23. sophie February 9, 2015 at 02:05 #

I love the colour and styling but I wish the gown was closed. I know leg baring is in her current style M.O, but this is the Grammys and it needed to look more fancy.

I was expecting something more flashy from her, but this is a Grammy Party look at best.

Her styling is amazing. Love the plays with colour.

  24. ruth February 9, 2015 at 02:04 #

not appropriate for a black tie event like the grammys.

    • Nadia February 9, 2015 at 02:09 #

I don’t think we watch the same Grammy Awards.

    • Bec February 9, 2015 at 02:12 #

      Lol, ok.

Can you explain what part is inappropriate?

  25. ash February 9, 2015 at 01:59 #

Definitely best dressed of the night. The color is just so beautiful and her hair & makeup is perfect. the shoes are fine by me 🙂

  26. Phoenix February 9, 2015 at 01:58 #

The shoes don’t work although I appreciate she tried for something different. I couldn’t like the dress on tv and I don’t like it in the pictures very much either. I find it too heavy feeling and not quite right….idk, Its probably a dress everyone will love but I’m not feeling it.

  27. Christine February 9, 2015 at 01:57 #

I like this look ankles up.

    • Lara February 9, 2015 at 02:03 #

+1 and I must say I would add an up do

  28. Heaven February 9, 2015 at 01:52 #

My favorite color + my favorite designer + those gorgeous Zanotti heel-less sandals + Taylor’s styling and attitude = Best dressed of the night for me !
This is absolutely perfect !!! I was afraid she’d disappoint but she didn’t ! She looks so great and perfectly in tune with the event!

  29. SHAKK February 9, 2015 at 01:52 #

I’m not usually a fan of Taylor Swift, but that dress and the colour! *Swooon* So captivating.

The sandals however, nice colour, but they’re a bit too heavy!

  30. Alex V February 9, 2015 at 01:50 #

Oh no you’re not ruining this perfect look with those shoes! She should’ve one for silver sandals
