Kim Kardashian Revisits Jean Paul Gaultier’s Hermès Archives

Kim Kardashian has delivered several more looks while promoting season two of All’s Fair, but unfortunately, Getty Images has only captured one of them. Thankfully, this one gives us plenty to talk about.

The actress continued her love affair with archival fashion, stepping out in a crocodile jacket from Hermès’ Fall 2004 collection, designed during Jean Paul Gaultier’s tenure at the French fashion house.

Originally presented on the runway by Linda Evangelista with jodhpur-style trousers, riding boots, leather gloves and a neck scarf, the jacket was part of a collection with a strong equestrian influence.

Kim, however, took it in a completely different direction, pairing the jacket with Wolford Merino tights. Yes, tights, not leggings. It’s a styling choice that few would attempt, but Kim has never been afraid to treat tights as trousers.

However, the pièce de résistance was undoubtedly her rare Jean Paul Gaultier-era Hermès crocodile Birkin bag in a rich tan colourway.

I don’t know how many bags were produced in this particular shade, but Cardi B owns a green version, which is reportedly among the rarest, with claims that only 10 were made.

Considering Kim’s extraordinary collection of Hermès bags, I’m hardly surprised that she has managed to get her hands on this one.
