Rihanna In Giambattista Valli Couture – ‘Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets’ LA Premiere

Rihanna was on a completely different planet from Cara Delevingne at the ‘Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets’ LA premiere on Monday (July 17)—if her look was any indication, that is.

Her style universe was one of bubblegum pink, cotton candy clouds, and frou, as she floated out this Giambattista Valli Couture custom high-low gown paired with custom Manolo Blahnik lace-up sandals for that distinct RiRi touch.

I always love it when Rihanna keeps us on our toes with unexpected turns such as this softer confection that oozed with girly, Victorian romance, dramatic tulle and chiffon layers, and whimsical pouf.

A matching Judith Leiber clutch and a light sprinkling of Chopard jewels completed the fantasy look with the appropriate amount of subtle restraint.

I’m sure some may be reminded of another sugar-sweet Giambattista Valli design she wore a couple of years ago.

Cara Delevingne In Iris van Herpen Couture – ‘Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets’ LA Premiere

Cara Delevingne was in her own fashion universe at the ‘Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets’ LA premiere on Monday (July 17).

Seeing this Iris van Herpen Fall 2017 Couture gown, I was immediately transported back to another cosmic-silver moment from the model-actress at the 2017 Met Gala.

However, this futuristic gown was in a galaxy all its own and certainly spared no expense on space-age seduction.

Previously having made the case for scalp painting, Cara now made a new case for faux finger waves to complete the galactic-glam statement.

Repossi jewels and Jimmy Choo ‘Minny’ sandals completed her look.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge In Alexander McQueen & Gosia Baczyńska – Poland Official Visit

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge has been on an official visit in Poland, where her new lease on style has followed her from England to Warsaw.

Warsaw Rising Museum: Arriving on Monday (July 17), she visited the Warsaw Rising Museum in an Alexander McQueen peplum suit that was lovely on its own accord. But, can we take a moment and appreciate the candy-apple-red Jenny Packham clutch and the sassier rendition of Gianvito Rossi nude pumps, each of which enhanced the fresh appeal of this classic look.

Queen’s Birthday Garden Party: I love how Catherine paid homage to her hosts with this bespoke dress from Polish designer Gosia Baczyńska. Perfect for a modern garden party, it had timeless appeal in its black-and-white palette and ladylike tea length whilst also offering an artistic edge. Pearls and a Prada clutch, not to mention yet another variation on Gianvito Rossi (ankle-strap!) heels completed the look with classic flourish.

Charlize Theron In Isabel Marant, Étoile Isabel Marant & Christian Dior – ‘Atomic Blonde’ Berlin Premiere

Still in Berlin, Germany, Charlize Theron continued the promo circuit for ‘Atomic Blonde’ that culminated in the world premiere on Monday (July 17).

Soho House: After her red-hot look the day before, she chilled out a bit for the film’s promotion at Soho House on Sunday (July 16). I loved the relaxed ease of this Isabel Marant Fall 2017 striped top paired with an Étoile Isabel Marant mini skirt that still provided plenty of leggy, sultry appeal. The flashes of red in her lip and nails also added to the simmering, subtle intrigue of the look with Sara Weinstock and Dana Rebecca Designs jewels topping it off.

World Premiere: If Sofia Boutella was channeling ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ for the premiere, then Charlize was boudoir Barbie. Legs-for-days has been her M.O. thus far, and with this Christian Dior bralette and leather skirt she achieved that and then some, but somehow still managed to make even this unorthodox premiere look seem borderline sophisticated with her grace of form. An even brighter coral-red lip further commanded attention.

Rita Ora In Chloe & Emilio Pucci – Elvis Duran Z100 Morning Show & SiriusXM

Rita Ora has been having a love affair with the ’70s, that is, if her latest round of looks are any indication. With a Studio 54 shag-style ’do in tow, she showed up to the Elvis Duran Z100 Morning Show and SiriusXM Studios in New York City on Monday (July 17), but you would have been forgiven if you thought she was on her way to a costume party.

Elvis Duran Z100 Morning Show: The retro vibes were strong in this Chloe Spring 2017 off-the-shoulder top and matching pyjama pants done in a ditzy floral print that had ‘hippie’ written all over it. The matching brown aviator shades and silver Salvatore Ferragamo sandals were the icing on this discotheque cake.

SiriusXM: The ’70s streak continued with this Emilio Pucci Pre-Fall 2017 tracksuit featuring the signature Pucci psychedelic swirl in full play which she styled with Pierre Hardy ‘Skinissimo’ sandals.

#ThrowbackMonday is clearly the new Thursday.

Sofia Boutella In Chanel – ‘Atomic Blonde’ Berlin Premiere

Sofia Boutella attended the ‘Atomic Blonde’ world premiere in Berlin, Germany on Monday (July 17).

Embracing classic modernity, she wore a Chanel Fall 2017 gown with dazzling sequin embellishment and sleek column lines.

Try as I might, I couldn’t fully embrace the ivory silk neck piece that I kept wanting to remove like a scarf. But, it did grow on me over time, as the whole look had something of a ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ charm.

I will give Sofia credit for wearing an updo with that neckline—even if the perky topknot could be a bit contrived for the more sophisticated look.
