Andrea Riseborough In Giamba – 9th Annual Governors Awards

I have become accustomed to always looking forward to seeing what Andrea Riseborough brings to the red carpet, as she has kept us on our toes lately with her range of looks.

That didn’t change at the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood, California, as she gave us another attitude on her mood-ring of style.

Here, she opted to leave the edginess for another night, as she presented a more gentle, romantic tone in this Giamba Pre-Fall 2017 gown that was printed with Bambi deer and daisies.

There was something quite lovely about the poetic spirit, with her softly curled pixie echoing the vibe.

She carried an Edie Parker clutch while keeping the jewels to a minimum—likely in ode to the nymph-like, enchanted-forest appeal.

Diane Kruger In No. 21 & Givenchy – AFI FEST 2017 Filmmakers’ Photocall & 9th Annual Governors Awards

Diane Kruger stopped by the AFI FEST 2017 Filmmakers’ Photo Call on Friday (November 10) in Hollywood, California before attending the 9th Annual Governors Awards the next evening.

AFI FEST 2017 Filmmakers’ Photo Call: I was easily enamoured by her No. 21 Spring 2018 two-piece ensemble that still felt suitable for fall by virtue of its rich embellishment. It speaks to Diane’s style-forward, risk-taking edge while maintaining a supreme level of pretty charm. Jimmy Choo ‘Kaylee’ sandals rounded out the look.

Greta Gerwig In The Row – 9th Annual Governors Awards

Greta Gerwig attended the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood, California.

You may be surprised to discover that actually really like this The Row Spring 2017 silk gown, mostly for the unexpected twist with the red knotted detail at the back which breaks up the simplicity.

The point where she lost me was with the red eye makeup. It almost has a Halloween feel to it which potentially took this look down a costumey path.

Allison Williams In Brandon Maxwell – 9th Annual Governors Awards

Allison Williams brought a rush of drama to the red carpet at the the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood.

So dramatic, though, was the sweeping ball skirt of her Brandon Maxwell Fall 2017 gown that I would argue it needed little bolstering from additional accessories.

Not that her sparkling Neil Lane diamond jewels didn’t raise the glamour quotient even more, with Paul Andrew lace pumps to finish out the look.

I just think that a more minimal, less heavy-handed styling approach—in hair and makeup, too—would have translated a bit more effortlessly and youthfully.

Camila Cabello In Ralph & Russo – 2017 MTV EMAs

Camila Cabello picked up the Best Pop Awards at the 2017 MTV EMAs this evening (November 12) in London.

The singer wore a deceptively sweet blush pink Ralph & Russo Spring 2018 gown.

However, on closer inspection, the gown possesses the daring traits you expect from a music event with the sheerness and glaring chest pads.

Should Camila have lined this look?

Juno Temple In Monse – 9th Annual Governors Awards

Working the velvet trend, Juno Temple was also at the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood, California.

Her plush Monse Fall 2017 one-shoulder gown would not be missed for its boldness of hue.

While I do think the floor-sweeping dress was a bit much for her petite frame, what couldn’t be overlooked was the styling.

Perhaps the Sophia Webster ‘Lilico Crystal’ platform sandals were chosen for their height. But, together with the high ponytail, they took the gown into more juvenile territory.

I longed for something far more seductively streamlined in the footwear department, especially since the matching black Tyler Ellis clutch drew more attention down to the shoes.

You may remember that Thandie Newton wore a Swarovski crystal decked version of this same dress to the 2017 Met Gala.
