Raye Celebrates Two Major Honours In Givenchy And Prada
Few artists have had a week quite like Raye.
The British singer-songwriter collected two major honours in New York, receiving Billboard’s Indie Spirit Award in recognition of her success as an independent artist before being presented with the Hal David Starlight Award at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Gala.
The back-to-back accolades recognised both sides of her success story: the artist who bet on herself and the songwriter whose work continues to resonate across the industry, and she marked each occasion in style.
Billboard Indie Power Players
The first look was a Givenchy by Sarah Burton Pre-Fall 2026 sliced-bow gown featuring satin and jet embroidery detailing across the neckline. It struck that sweet spot between old-Hollywood glamour and modern elegance, with a touch of drama and just enough sex appeal. The result was striking and entirely in keeping with Raye’s glamorous style. So much so, that I can picture her also wearing this on stage.
Styled with Givenchy’s gold Lucky Charms earrings and black leather Boudoir Bow mules, the look felt perfectly suited to an evening celebrating her artistic achievement.
Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Gala
We had another black gown, this time from Prada. The first thing I noticed was the length, which was a tad too long, both in the skirt and sleeves, creating that bunching-of-fabric effect that is all too familiar with Prada dresses. However, the dramatic neckline ended up doing a lot of heavy lifting here, along with those decorative buttons. Without that open front, I suspect the look may have skewed older than intended.
Raye sold the dress with so much confidence that many of my reservations quickly faded into the background. The vintage-inspired hairstyle complemented the glamour of the gown, while her assured presence elevated the overall look.
Of the two, the Givenchy is my favourite. It felt fresher and ultimately more memorable, but there is no denying that Raye delivered two distinct fashion moments this week.
