Michelle Williams In Louis Vuitton – ‘Wonderstruck’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Michelle Williams was back on the red carpet for the ‘Wonderstruck’ premiere during the 2017 Cannes Film Festival this afternoon (May 18), following the photocall this morning.

While I did expect her to wear custom Louis Vuitton, I didn’t expect to be underwhelmed.

At Cannes, the home of “only your best will do”, this mirco-studded gown falls way short.

I would go as far to say this feels a bit mumsy.

The only brief moment of joy was seeing this in motion as the gown features a split down the side and a draped cape, but alas, I’m clutching at straws.

Li Yuchun In Ellery – Cannes Film Festival Opening Gala Dinner

Despite her petite frame, Li Yuchun has never been afraid of making a bold statement.

The Chinese megastar changed out of her Maison Margiela Couture look for the Cannes Film Festival opening gala on Wednesday (May 17), into something less costumey.

I love how her Ellery Pre-Fall 2017 look taps into the zeitgeist of the upcoming season with its classic tailoring and extravagant ruffle detailing, and how she kept the flares for a retro, chic touch.

Never one to shy away from over-sized, mannish proportions – if anything she gravitates towards them – I’m sure you’ll view this as a more successful outing than the first.

Monica Bellucci In Vivienne Westwood Couture – Cannes Film Festival Opening Gala Dinner

Black hasn’t always been my preferred choice when it comes to red carpet dressing.

Often because the details can get lost, along with my perception of the colour being boring; but Monica Bellucci is making me question everything as her Vivienne Westwood Couture gown was the third all-black look that has left me in awe within the space of 24 hours.

Fast becoming my queen of Cannes, so far, the Italian beauty stunned in this velvet sequin gown with black onyx Swarowski crystals.

It’s the effortless of it all that sweeps me off my feet time and time again.

J’Adore.

And may I also note what an amazing run Vivienne Westwood is having at present with fashion homeruns also coming courtesy of Elle Fanning and Thandie Newton this week.

Emily Ratajkowski In Attico – Cannes Film Festival Sighting

Prior to her uninspiring look at the Cannes Film Festival premiere for ‘Ismael’s Ghosts’, Emily Ratajkowski was spotted soaking up the sun at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc on Wednesday (May 17).

If your first thought was, “this is the most fabric I’ve ever seen worn by Emily”, you’re not alone.

I found this Attico Spring 2017 patchwork floral dress as refreshing as a dip in that deep blue sea behind her. I’m glad to see she can step out of her comfort-zone.

Her peasant-chic look was styled with a Carolina Santo Domingo ‘Corallina’ raffia tote that was made to be carried alongside a pretty, summery frock, and blue mules.

Marion Cotillard In Chanel – Cannes Film Festival Opening Gala Dinner

From my recollection, Marion Cotillard’s last Chanel look was from the 2008 BAFTAs, and I never thought I would see the day, again, but that she did for the opening gala dinner during Cannes Film Festival, following her Jean-Paul Gaultier and Y/Project looks from earlier in the day.

I like how this fresh-off-the runway Chanel Resort 2018 tunic-style dress takes the shift silhouette to a new, eclectic terrain.

Keeping the same natural hair and makeup, the look was styled with barely-there transparent PVC sandals.
