Elle Fanning Wore Gucci To The ‘Sentimental Value’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Elle Fanning made her Cannes Film Festival return this afternoon for the Sentimental Value photocall, swapping last night’s red carpet glamour for something a little more relaxed—but still with plenty to say.

The statement? Printed right across her chest: Joachim Trier Summer.

It’s a sweet nod to the director of her latest film. A sartorial shoutout, Cannes-style. It’s very on-brand for Elle to make indie film love wearable, and the internet wasted no time: Etsy listings for the tee have started popping up almost immediately.

The rest of the look? A nostalgic love letter to the ‘70s. The floral Gucci twill carré worn as a headscarf, the high-waisted Gucci denim, the classic GG Marmont brown leather belt—it all oozes sunshine-soaked, vintage charm. Much like her retro Coach look from the day before, Elle is clearly on a time-travelling streak, giving Cannes a dose of old-school cool with a cinephile twist.
