Uma Thurman In Jenny Packham – Chopard And Vanity Fair Present ‘Backstage At Cinecitta’ Exhibition

Uma Thurman In Jenny Packham - Chopard And Vanity Fair Present 'Backstage At Cinecitta' Exhibition

No film festival invite list is complete without Uma Thurman’s name on it.

While she doesn’t have a movie to promote, the actress did attend the Chopard And Vanity Fair Present ‘Backstage At Cinecitta’ Exhibition held at the Cipriani Hotel on Sunday (August 31) during Venice Film Festival.

Uma wore a rich maroon Jenny Packham layered chiffon pleated dress, worn perhaps to provide the perfect backdrop to her stunning diamond and ruby stone necklace.

Styled with gold Jimmy Choo sandals – wish they had been silver – this look overall falls flat for me.

The only thing I would save are the jewels.

Alba Rohrwacher In Louis Vuitton & Valentino Couture – ‘Hungry Hearts’ Venice Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Alba Rohrwacher In Louis Vuitton & Valentino Couture - 'Hungry Hearts' Venice Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

On Sunday (August 31) Alba Rohrwacher made an appearance at the 2014 Venice Film Festival to promote her latest movie, ‘Hungry Hearts’.

Photocall: The Italian actress wore a head-to-toe Louis Vuitton Fall 2014 look featuring a printed crewneck sweater, a part-leather skirt accented with a knotted belt, and those tan ankle boots which I haven’t been a huge fan of, but Alba sells the whole look effortlessly to me.

Premiere: Working the same no-fuss mantra, Alba graced the red carpet wearing a Valentino Fall 2014 Couture look featuring a white long-sleeved silk top with a black pleated skirt accented with a wraparound leather waistband, a signature of this collection. I had pictured this on Tilda Swinton, but they have the same frame, same laidback approach to the red carpet and similar hairstyles, so I can’t be disappointed by this spectacular outing.

Two for two. Do you agree?

Cristiana Capotondi In Marni – ‘Hungry Hearts’ Venice Film Festival Premiere

Cristiana Capotondi In Marni - 'Hungry Hearts' Venice Film Festival Premiere

Cristiana Capotondi attended the ‘Hungry Hearts’ premiere during the 2014 Venice Film Festival on Sunday (August 31) in Venice, Italy.

Wearing a vivid black, baby-pink and bright-blue floral gown with plissé pleats around the waist from Marni’s Pre-Fall 2014 collection, I am totally captivated by this look.

Even with the daring plunge, this look retains its elegance.

Sweeping her hair back into a chic chignon, she styled her frock with a black and silver clutch plus a gold bracelet.

This was easily one of my favourites from this weekend’s events.

Get The Look: Halle Berry’s Emmy Awards Soft Smoky Beauty Look

Halle Berry Emmys Makeup

Halle Berry was the picture of true elegance at the 2014 Emmy Awards (August 25th). Gliding along the red carpet in a stunning Elie Saab gown, celebrity makeup artist, Kara Yoshimoto Bua, was deeply inspired by the soft dusty rose tones of the dress.

Keeping with its fluidity and soft nature, Kara created a look that highlighted these stunning aspects. She emphasizes that choosing a proper shadow tone is crucial in achieving a specific look.

“To create a softer and sexier smoky eye, stay away from dark greys and blacks and use warm browns and burgundies with red undertones that compliment all skin tones,” says Kara.

Here’s how you can recreate this irresistible look yourself:

SKIN
Prep: For a richly hydrated foundation, Kara moisturized Halle’s skin with CHANEL Sublimage La Crème Yeux.

Foundation: Once prepped, she evened out Halle’s skin with CHANEL Perfection Lumière Long-Wear Flawless Fluid Sunscreen Makeup SPF 15 in 60 Beige. For a more shapely and multifaceted effect, Kara contoured her face with the same foundation in shade 104 Ambre.

Cheeks: Kara highlighted Halle’s cheekbones with REVLON Highlighting Palette in Peach Glow and applied REVLON Cream Blush in Pinched to her cheeks for a brightened flush of color.

EYES
Kara primed Halle’s lid with REVLON PhotoReady Primer + Shadow in Metropolitan and blended REVLON ColorStay 16H Eye Shadow Quad in Adventurous on her lids. She followed by defining the eyes with REVLON Luxurious Color Eye Liner Pencil in Sueded Brown and neatly smudged it out along the lash lines. For a final eye framing effect, Kara layered REVLON Growluscious Mascara in Black on her lashes.

Kara proceed with a clean grooming of Halle’s brows. She use CHANEL Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Blond Clair on the brows for a defined yet natural finish. She topped the eyes by gently blending CHANEL Eclat Lumière Highlighter Face Pen in 50 Medium Deep along the under eye for a eye opening highlight.

LIPS
For the perfect nude pout, Kara first applied REVLON ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Ingenue to Halle’s lips and followed with a generous coat of CHANEL Glossimer in Sweet Beige.

Kathryn Hahn In Marni – ‘She’s Funny That Way’ Venice Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Kathryn Hahn In Marni - 'She's Funny That Way' Venice Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

On Friday (August 29) Kathryn Hahn made an appearance at the 2014 Venice Film Festival to promote her latest movie, ‘She’s Funny That Way’.

Photocall: For the photocall she kept it light and summery wearing a Marni pink crepe sleeveless knee-length dress embellished with jewelled detailing. I didn’t get or like the addition of the black Marni leather sandals – I picture yellow bringing out those jewels; however, opting for nude would’ve washed her out completely.

Premiere: Sticking with Marni for the premiere, the actress selected a look from the Evening Collection featuring a black silk-faille jacket with tonal tri-dimensional stones paired with black crepe wide-leg trousers with a cascading ruffle detail. The look has many interesting elements, but perhaps this should’ve been saved for the New York premiere.
