Sophia Bush In Monique Lhuillier – 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

101st Annual White House Correspondents' Association Dinner - Inside Arrivals

Sophia Bush looked poised on the red carpet of the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner last night (April 25) at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC.

The fashion-loving actress wore a teal Monique Lhuillier gown from the Fall 2015 collection with a Edie Parker multi-colour glitter ‘Minnie clutch and dramatic diamond and ruby jewels.

The draping on this gown is flawless, and the lines offer a modern take on the classic Grecian concept.

Flawless and radiant skin, a simple chignon and lips the same shade of deep pink as her jewels complete the look.

I really love how simultaneously fun and elegant this look is on Sophia. By choosing the colored gem-stones to pop against the stunning shade of the gown, she’s keeping the style exuberant without leaving the realm of sophistication needed at such an affair.

Naya Rivera ln Tadashi Shoji – 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

Naya Rivera ln Tadashi Shoji - 2015 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner

Naya Rivera stepped out at the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner last night (April 25) at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC.

The pregnant ‘Glee’ star wore a long-sleeved, draped cowl back Tadashi Shoji gown from the Fall 2015 collection.

A simple clutch and diamond stud earrings with a dark manicure accent the white hot look, and a sleek bun, and flawless, bronzed skin and nude lips are perfectly suited to the gown.

I love how Naya looks in white, and I like this sophisticated take on maternity wear. Covered from head-to-toe but still offering plenty of aesthetic appeal with the draping and cut, I’m really liking what Naya and this dress are giving us.

Ashley Judd In Badgley Mischka – 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

Ashley Judd In Badgley Mischka - 2015 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner

Ashley Judd took a Spring-like turn on the red carpet of the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner last night (April 25) at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC.

The actress wore a lavender, watercolor-print Badgley Mischka gown with a sweetheart neckline and waistline ruching with silver ankle-strap pumps and clutch and a few well-placed jewels.

Radiant skin with sun-kissed cheeks, glossy lips and soft curls accented with a floral fascinator complete the fresh look.

I just cannot get on board with this fashion statement for this event. While the dress is gorgeous, it doesn’t quite fit with the occasion, and by taking the theme so far with the floral headpiece, Ashley has stepped squarely into a costumey place she just doesn’t need to be. At another event, this could have been divine, but it feels out of place at a political dinner.

Do you agree with me? Or do you love Ashley’s celebration of  Spring?

Laverne Cox In Ines Di Santo – 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

101st Annual White House Correspondents' Association Dinner - Inside Arrivals

Laverne Cox also hit the red carpet at the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner last night (April 25) at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC.

The actress wore an Ines Di Santo Fall 2015 custom charcoal gray silk  gown with a V-neckline and slight train. She accented the look with diamond Forevermark jewels and a multi-colored box clutch.

I really love this liquid metal effect on Laverne, and as usual, the star looks radiant.

Blonde curls, a flawless complexion, lush lashes and nude, glossy lips offer a glamorous-with-no-fuss beauty look perfect for the occasion.

Simple elegance is an art form that not everyone can pull off, but with this look, Laverne showed us exactly how it’s done.

Gina Rodriguez In Gustavo Cadile – 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

Gina Rodriguez In Gustavo Cadile - 2015 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner

Gina Rodriguez continued her pretty amazing year by attending the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner last night (April 25) at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC.

The Golden Globe winner wore a blush pink Fall 2015 Gustavo Cadile gown with a soft V neckline and cap sleeves with Harry Kotlar & Chimento jewels and a Edie Parker nude pearl ‘Jean’ clutch.

A fairly unusual color for a red carpet look, the pink hue is a fun and fresh approach to red carpet glamour, and I am completely in love with the silhouette of this gown.

Sleek hair, radiant skin, shimmering eyeshadow and winged eyeliner with nude lips are completely on point in the beauty department.

Gina is continuing to have the ‘best year ever’ in my book. Making such a perfect editorial statement at her first ever White House Correspondents’ dinner is definitely something else to check off the ol’ bucket list.

Bailee Madison In Rachel Allan Couture – 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

Bailee Madison In Rachel Allan - 2015 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner

Bailee Madison was one of the younger stars to attend the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner last night (April 25) at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC.

For her big night, Bailee went for a grown-up look with a silver floral print Rachel Allan Spring 2015 Couture gown. The black netting offers both an elegant boatneck line in the front, and a open-back keyhole in the back, which looks graceful on the young actress.

While I love the dress in theory, it seems to overwhelm Bailee frame a bit to me. Perhaps it is just seeing such a young girl in a full, long gown, but it just doesn’t sit quite right with me.

A sleek, low side pony and beautiful makeup, complete with a deep berry lip, are chic and well-suited to the look. I love the contrast of the lipstick shade with the silver of the dress.

So what do you think of this look? Are you smitten, or does it not quite sit right with you, as it does with me?
