Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

We couldn’t let the week go by without checking on these leading men..starting with Eddie Redmayne.

Eddie Redmayne: The British actor is the only person, excluding Tom Hiddleston, who can make me consistently swoon upon sight of him in a luxe Polo Ralph Lauren velvet tuxedo. He was by far the best dressed at the 2019 Breakthrough Prize Ceremony, despite him stating that his 8-month son isn’t allowing him time to get much sleep.

Jared Leto: We expected Jared Leto to attend the 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala, but did we expect this white satin lapel Gucci suit with a matching hat? No, I actually expected more colour from him, so this served as quite a surprise. I have moments when I love this and moments when I want him to remove that hat.

Timothée Chalamet: At the Hollywood Film Awards the young actor wore a sharply tailored Louis Vuitton suit, but I was more intrigued by the embellished shirt, and thankful for shoes over sneakers.

Rowan Blanchard In Gucci – 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala

Rowan Blanchard In Gucci - 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala

Rowan Blanchard was mixing eras at the 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala at LACMA on Saturday (November 03) in Los Angeles, California.

The hair was saying roaring ’20s, while her Gucci Fall 2018 dress was giving a nod to the ’80s.

I love how the lame fabric that almost appear holographic and the bow accents emulate the decade’s love for strong silhouettes.

Everything about this look screams drama, including the makeup.

Rowan doesn’t usually make such strong statements, so I’m enjoying every element of this look.

Kiki Layne In Gucci – 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala

Kiki Layne In Gucci - 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala

Kiki Layne joined Zoe Kravitz for the 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala on Saturday (November 3) in Los Angeles, California.

When I first saw her look, my immediate thought was, “why is she wearing a pink bolero with this goddess green Gucci gown?”

But on closer inspection I realized that the pink ruffle accents are actually part of the sleeves.

It took me a while, but I’m on board with this elaborate part of the design. It gives the look an unexpected twist and brings a new dimension to Kiki’s evolving style.

Zoe Kravitz In Gabriela Hearst- 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala

After a brief flirtation with colour, it was back to being dark and mysterious for Zoe Kravitz who attended the 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala on Saturday (November 3) in LA.

This event is hosted by Gucci, so we expect mostly Gucci-clad guests, but Zoe has never been one to play by the “rules”, so the actress wore a Gabriela Hearst Spring 2019 navy dress adorned with water pearl accents.

I love how the off-the-shoulder dress oozes seduction and has contemporary flair despite classic design.

The look would not have been completed without the signature Gabriela Hearst ‘Demi’ bag.

Gucci @ 2017 LACMA Art + Film Gala

As the 2017 LACMA Art + Film Gala in LA on Saturday (November 4) was presented by Gucci, there were quite a number of Gucci looks in attendance from the label’s devoted darlings.

Dakota Johnson: You might recognize this Gucci Spring 2018 embellished, plisse gown from the Red Carpet Wish List for Mandy Moore. Yet, its languid, boudoir glamour was actually in keeping with Dakota’s style, too. I know some may qualify the swoop of her hairstyle as a bit mature, and I wouldn’t disagree. However, I did like the drama brought forth from her long earrings and oxblood lip.

Zoe Saldana: I think Zoe may be the only one who could wear this Gucci gown and not make me want to immediately rip off the giant pink rose corsages from the flamenco, caped shoulders.

Naomi Campbell In Atelier Versace – 2017 LACMA Art + Film Gala

Naomi Campbell stunned at the 2017 LACMA Art + Film Gala on Saturday (November 4) in LA, where she joined Jane Fonda, Annabelle Wallis, and Kim Kardashian West.

Indulging her love of embellishment, the supermodel wore a canary-yellow, one-shoulder gown entirely beaded with Swarovski fringes.

I can just imagine the fringed elements lightly shimmying with elegant movement as she walked.

With her loose waves to finish out the dress, this look saw her channeling the softer side of show-stopping glamour. And, I was totally on board with that.
