Kate Beckinsale went for a totally different look on the red carpet yesterday evening for the ‘Total Recall’ LA premiere.
Known for her love of frothy girlie glam, she opted for an Armani Privé Spring 2012 reptilian gown.
I love this dramatic look for Kate.
The strapless gown with a sculptural detail at the front and back looked like a python had snaked itself around her perfect figure, with the green hue popping against the dark background making her stand out on a packed red carpet.
I would’ve loved Kate to have opted for a slicked-back do instead of this braided updo with loose tendrils. Kohl-rimmed eyes would’ve also played up the dark mysterious nature of her gown.
Under her gorgeous gown she wore Brian Atwood black satin ‘Hamper’ pumps plus she added Lorraine Schwartz black diamond-drop earrings and a white-and-black diamond band ring completed her look.
I have a feeling this might be a marmite gown.

I would have preferred someone taller in this gown but at the same time not that many mainstream celebs have been attached to this collection so because of that I’ll overlook it. She has the body for any type of garnets that’s for sure. I wish the hair was a bit different from her normal appearance to do it justice, either totally sleeked up or pin straight. She still looks absolutely beautiful, how can she not she’s Kate Beckinsale!

Love the dress, very mysterious and seductive, I’m sure it is amazing in person. Don’t like the hair – too romantic for this dress, the blonde tendrils are distracting.

I think the dress is amazing but would’ve liked to see it on someone less ‘vanilla’. Her hair in this puffy prom queen style just kills it for me.

As much as I WANT to love this look, I can’t. I hate the snakeskin bodice peeking out, and the rest of the gown is so, so tacky looking. It looks like an ugly rubber wrap, I’m sorry. Like the skin of a man-made animal, if that makes sense.
Since she is playing the villian in the movie, this looks is perfect. She looks great! This collection was not my favorite but she is making it work.
She looks great in the gown but I agree the hairstyle is too romantic for the dress.

Very dramatic certainly. Not sure if I love or loathe it, to tell you the truth.
I prefer the dress on the model. I think the dress is better on someone who has a skin tone as vanilla as the model.
I actually love the gown. However, like FC stated, I would’ve loved some more dramatic eyes and perhaps a genie ponytail.

Totally agree with you on EVERYTHING FC. Particularly regarding the constructive critique to the styling. She should have really played up the viper vibe of the dress (pun intended). Loved the dress, though, and the choice of shoes seems adequate.

Perfect gown for this premiere. Jessica Biel went too girly, this is an action movie so this gown fits perfectly. The hair is a little too romantic for this gown but I like the smokey eye.
