Golden Discs

Sarah Paulson wore a custom three-piece Ferragamo ensemble embellished with vertical gold yarn embroidery, crystal drops and antique gold sequins.

I’m completely sold on the idea behind this look. The oversized paillettes create a beautiful sense of movement, while the flashes of gold against the black give it an almost molten-metal effect. However, my overriding feeling is that the ensemble looks too heavy, largely due to the layering of the pieces. Perhaps if this had been one fluid piece, the overall effect would have felt lighter.

The dramatic earrings are a highlight, while Ferragamo black satin pumps with jewelled toe ornaments completed her look.

A Question Of Proportions

Andrew Garfield wore a custom Ferragamo wool-linen suit that saw him venture into oversized tailoring.

The leather tie gives the look a slightly unconventional character. However, I’m not entirely sold on this silhouette for Andrew. It’s the kind of look I could imagine J Balvin wearing, but the broad shoulders and generously cut trousers create a boxy shape that feels a little overwhelming on Andrew.

I don’t mind relaxed tailoring, but I don’t think Andrew is selling this silhouette to me.

Ferragamo black leather double-monkstrap Derbies and a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Duoface Tourbillon watch in pink gold completed his look.

Navy Distinction

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II wore a Ferragamo double-breasted, peak-lapel suit in two shades of navy blue.

The open collar gives the tailoring a more relaxed character, even if that wasn’t the intention. I particularly like how the two shades of navy complement each other without making the suit feel mismatched.

Black Ferragamo Chelsea boots completed his look.
