Carey Mulligan Makes Her Emmys Debut in The Row
Carey Mulligan made her Emmy Awards debut this evening as a double nominee for Beef, earning her first acting nomination for her role as Lindsay, as well as a producing nomination for the series.

The one thing you can expect from Carey during awards season is something unexpected, and that’s exactly what this blue-and-white floral-embroidered dress from The Row’s Resort 2027 collection delivered.

The shade of blue is stunning on her. It’s not your typical awards-season dress, but that’s precisely why it works for Carey’s style sensibilities. The column silhouette is simple from the front, allowing the embroidery to do most of the work, while the oversized bow and long satin panels add an unexpected detail at the back, making the rear view every bit as interesting as the front.
I also love that Carey kept everything else uncomplicated. Her hair was swept into a relaxed updo, while her neutral makeup and small diamond earrings allowed that brilliant blue to remain the focus.
Even the white shoes, which echo the white trim and embroidery, make sense here. This is Carey Mulligan doing awards-season dressing entirely on her own terms, as always.
