Celebrities in Louis Vuitton for the 2025 Governors Awards
Nicolas Ghesquière dressed seven celebrities in Louis Vuitton for the 2025 Governors Awards. Not every look worked, but as a collective showing, it told us that the house is feeling confident under Ghesquière going into awards season.

Emma Stone has been quietly nailing her Louis Vuitton looks in 2025. Aside from her Eddington Cannes photocall moment — the only one that didn’t fully win me over — this run has been exceptional, and last night’s look continues that streak. This custom column gown, with its off-shoulder silhouette and crystal-embroidered strap, feels effortlessly elegant in a way that suits her perfectly. It’s modern without trying too hard, and there’s a quiet confidence to it — the fit, the restraint, the subtle shimmer — that reminds you why Emma is one of Louis Vuitton’s most successful ambassadors. Her LV High Jewelry, especially the Elan Vital ear cuff, completed her look.

Bridal ballerina
Chase Infiniti has had an impressive final quarter of the year in custom Louis Vuitton, but I’m conflicted here. The bustier is beautiful, the craftsmanship is undeniable, but the tulle skirt is veering into… toilet brush territory. I wish there were a kinder analogy, but that’s what the silhouette evokes. A softer shape or less abrupt volume would’ve kept this on the right side of whimsical. Instead, it’s teetering. Gorgeous from the bust up, questionable from the waist down. MESSIKA jewels completed her look.

Two Fabrics Fighting Each Other
Renate Reinsve is having a stellar style era — the Schiaparelli moment alone put her in early BDOTY conversations — so I’m always hopeful for another slam dunk. The leather bodice is stunning: sculptural, and elegant. But once the taffeta skirt enters the chat, the harmony dissolves. The texture reads more bin liner (or trash bag, for my American readers). It’s a shame, because the idea is interesting. The execution, however, feels like two separate dresses on a first date trying to get along. It’s not bad, per se, but I would have preferred it if the entire gown were leather. Her gold Louis Vuitton Volt Mesh bracelet was a lovely touch, though.

End-Of-The-Night Chic
This is exactly how I picture Jeremy Allen White at the end of an awards ceremony: shirt undone, collar uneven, cummerbund slightly skewed. And yet? It works. It feels like accidental styling that became intentional. The only thing missing from this style scenario is a cigarette hanging from his bottom lip. The Louis Vuitton yellow gold and diamond Destiny brooch plus the Louis Vuitton Monterey kept the look clean. I wouldn’t want anyone else wearing this — but on him, it’s perfect.

The Classicist
Oscar Isaac arrived in a custom Louis Vuitton tux so precise, you could frame it as a tailoring reference image. Sleek lapels, sharp fit, nothing to critique. He rarely misses, and tonight is no exception. If Jeremy Allen White is the after-party, Oscar Isaac is the beautifully punctual dinner guest who arrives exactly on time.

The Method Dresser Strikes Again
We knew Jeremy Strong wasn’t showing up in a classic tux, but even I didn’t have “custom coffee-bean Louis Vuitton denim suit with coordinating brown bow tie and Louis Vuitton Buttersoft sneakers” on my prediction card. The faded brown hue won’t be for everyone — I personally wish it were deeper — but the oddness suits him. You cannot apply normal red carpet logic to Jeremy Strong. He exists in a stylistic multiverse where the rules are made of jelly. I respect it.

Classic, With no notes
After months filming in London, Michael B. Jordan was back stateside and he gave us a custom Louis Vuitton moment: a navy double-breasted tux jacket with matching trousers. It isn’t wildly inventive, but it’s sophisticated, handsome, and exactly right for the event. Sometimes the smart move is not to reinvent a classic formula.
