2019 SAG Awards Menswear Roundup

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features 2019 SAG Awards Menswear

Here’s a look at the handsome fellas at the 2019 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 27) in LA.

Mahershala Ali: The ‘Green Book’ outstanding supporting actor winner cut a suave profile in this riff on an aubergine tuxedo by Ermenegildo Zegna XXX with the brocade effect adding a layer of richness to the ensemble. I like the relaxed elegance of his Bruno Magli smoking slippers and the white bow tie for its crisp, clean finish.

Henry Golding: The Midas touch was definitely rubbing off on the ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ actor, who lived up to his last name with this gold jacket. Opting out of a tie was the right move here, as the Tom Ford ensemble doesn’t seem try-hard even with its metallic sheen.

Chadwick Boseman: The ‘Black Panther’ star continues to impress, as this fancy Ermenegildo Zegna XXX jacket in a leafy tribal pattern styled with the series of lapel pins did the trick — no tie required. Christian Louboutin shoes completed the look.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

The men continue to make their creative presence known on the red carpet with a fresh round of sharp looks.

Bradley Cooper: The ‘A Star Is Born’ actor attended the IWC Schaffhausen at SIHH 2019 on Tuesday (January 15) in Geneva, Switzerland. He kept things classic in a navy blue and black Gucci suit with Christian Louboutin shoes and an IWC watch. I’m not sure if the slightly eschew bow tie was intentional, but he gets away with it.

Stephan James: The ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ actor continues to demonstrate his flare in Etro with a David Yurman watch on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ on Thursday (January 17). With no socks and a white shirt the bold plaid suit is rather summery, but he’s doing his darnedest to make it work.

2019 AFI Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

2019 AFI Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

We won’t forget the fellas who joined a host of ladies at the 2019 AFI Awards this afternoon (January 4) in California.

Bradley Cooper: Am I the only one who desperately wants to undo that button? This wool Isaia suit was the better of his two looks this past 24 hours – which he styled with velvet Christian Louboutin ‘Greggo Orlato’ shoes – but if he was going to button up, he should’ve lost the vest, because the as look as presented feels really bulky.

Mahershala Ali: Could Mahershala look any cooler? His Christian Louboutin ‘Alpha Male’ lace less dress shoe set this off right.

Stephan James: Do not adjust your screens. This is a rare moment of Stephan James wearing black. The ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ actor was decked out in a three-piece Etro suit which mixed classic tailoring with a contemporary cut. I will give him a pass on going sans socks, as he was rocking a swaggy pair of Christian Louboutin ‘Dandelion’ patent and printed loafers. Chopard’s L.U.C Perpetual Twin timepiece completed his look.

Michael B. Jordan Debuts as Global Face of Coach Men’s

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Michael B. Jordan Debuts as Global Face of Coach Men’s

Coach released their men’s global advertising campaign for Spring 2019 starring actor and producer Michael B. Jordan, who makes his debut as the first global face of Coach menswear.

The actor, who is redefining Hollywood standards, captures the cool optimism of the Coach Guy in a series of images set ‘backstage’ at a faded carnival.

Shot in a sunlit desert landscape outside of Los Angeles, the photographs depict the ‘Black Panther’ star on a vintage car, dressed in the house’s reimagined iconic American silhouettes—a colour block shearling jacket, a blue leather moto and a patchwork leather MA-1.

The campaign also stars the new season’s hero bags, including the Signature Rivington Backpack, the Rivington Belt Bag and the Metropolitan Carryall.

Menswear End Of The Week Red Carpet Roundup

Here is the final roundup for the fellas who have been showcasing a range of styles from LA, Melbourne to Paris this week.

Cole Sprouse: This double-breasted suit would’ve come off as pretty standard had it not been for the injection of blood-red via his turtleneck.

Troye Sivan: The peformer attended the NGV Gala 2018 in Melbourne wearing an ivory and black trimmed Valentino look especially designed for him by Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli. I love the reinterpreted blazer, which instantly feels modern with the cape detail. This is a shoe-in for BDOTW.

Stephan James: Kiki Layne may be getting all the plaudits for her style, but that should also be attributed to Stephan too. I mean, does they guy even own a black or navy suit? Once again he embraced colour, and print, in a way that was ensured that he would stand out for all the right reasons in Grayscale. David Yurman accessories completed his look.

Michael B. Jordan In Loewe – ‘Creed II’ Johannesburg Premiere

Michael B Jordan was welcomed into Mzansi (South Africa) by a frenzy of fans, who turned up in their numbers for the ‘Creed 2’ premiere in Johannesburg on Saturday (November 24).

The actor was looking his usual suave self as he rocked up to the red carpet wearing a Loewe green mohair and wool suit with a cotton t-shirt.

I love the way the stripes gave this look a sporty feel – which was right on theme with the film.

He could’ve comfortably worn sneakers with this suit, but I love the polish his Loewe oxford shoes gives this look.
