Emmys 2025 Menswear: Classics & Twists on Tradition
For the second chapter of Emmys menswear, I’m focusing on the men who stayed loyal to tradition—or at least started there before adding their own twist. Some kept it timeless, others toyed with the formula, but all delivered their version of the classic suit.

Hollywood Echoes
Adam Scott’s Thom Browne suit felt like a cinematic nod to 1940s menswear. The high-waisted pleated trousers with braces immediately evoked the Golden Age of Hollywood, while the crisp white boutonnière lent a dandyish, almost nostalgic elegance. A modern reinterpretation, but steeped in history.
Styled by Ilaria Urbinati.

Tailcoat Revival
Paul W. Downs looked razor sharp in Wales Bonner’s wool-and-silk tailcoat, crafted with Savile Row’s Anderson & Sheppard. The shirting from the Spring 2026 collection kept things contemporary, but I couldn’t help thinking how an ascot might have elevated this into true old-world refinement instead of that lose tie.
Styled by Brit + Kara.

Never Boring
Alan Cumming in Tanner Fletcher’s Spring 2026 satin black suit from the Bridal Collection wasn’t traditional, but by his standards it almost felt safe. We’re so used to kilts and flamboyance from him, yet the white piping and oversized bow shirt still sat firmly in his playful, unapologetically individualistic lane.
Styled by Sam Spector.

Lace and Sharp Lines
Chris Perfetti stood out in black-and-white lace tailoring, also from Tanner Fletcher’s Spring/Summer 2026 Bridal Collection. It was unexpected yet striking—contemporary in spirit, but anchored by classic suit lines. A daring balance that matched his sharp, modern style.
Styled by Kat Cook.

Youthful Classicism
At just 15, Emmy winner Owen Cooper proved you don’t need a tux to impress. His GapStudio look layered with a jacket in a way that kept the formality but added a relaxed, age-appropriate ease. Youthful, modern, and pitch-perfect.
Styled by Aimée Croysdill.

Timeless Brioni
While others experimented, Jude Law gave us pure, unfiltered classicism in Brioni. No twists, no playful accents—just timeless tailoring delivered with natural authority.
