Margot Robbie Wore Mugler To The New York Premiere Of ‘A Big Bold Beautiful Journey’
Margot Robbie was back on the red carpet for the New York premiere of A Big Bold Beautiful Journey at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater, and back in vintage Mugler. Well, sort of—the look came from the Mugler re/edit capsule, inspired by the Jeu de Paume Spring-Summer 1998 Haute Couture collection.

I’m going to rip this off like a band-aid: I don’t like anything about this look.
At first, I tried to convince myself it might just be the angle of the pictures, but I was clutching at straws. As much as I appreciate Margot exploring this riskier, more experimental side of her style, this one just didn’t land. Dare I say—it’s giving Fashion Nova.
And it’s not because of the double slit skirt or the spilling cups. I’ve praised revealing gowns before. The main problem here was in the details. Zoom in on the bodice and you can see wobbly stitching where the corset meets the rest of the dress. For a Mugler piece—even a re/edit—this finish feels shockingly sloppy, and it cheapens the whole effect.
Margot has had some spectacular wins, but this? A swing, and a very hard miss.
