Saint Laurent Productions ‘Father Mother Sister Brother’ To Debut At Venice Film Festival
Back in May 2025, Emilia Pérez made its debut under the Saint Laurent Productions banner at the Cannes Film Festival, and just nine months later, Zoe Saldana was accepting her Best Actress Oscar. Lightning, meet bottle.
So, can it strike twice?

We’ll soon find out, as Saint Laurent Productions has announced its fourth feature film, Father Mother Sister Brother, written and directed by Jim Jarmusch, will compete as part of the official selection at the 2025 Venice Film Festival, running from 27 August to 6 September.

And with a cast like this, the potential feels sky-high. We’re talking Tom Waits, Adam Driver, Mayim Bialik, Charlotte Rampling, Cate Blanchett, Vicky Krieps, Sarah Greene, Indya Moore, Luka Sabbat and Françoise Lebrun. That’s a lot of clout in one project.
Awards speculation aside, let’s take a moment to get excited about what this could mean for the press tour. If Emilia Pérez was anything to go by, we’re in for a stylish run. While Zoe Saldana didn’t wear Saint Laurent exclusively throughout the campaign, once it became clear she was a frontrunner, we saw a definitive shift to custom looks from the house.

And if there’s even the slightest chance that Cate Blanchett will be back on the circuit—possibly collecting another Best Actress Oscar—then yes, I’m already imagining her in that iconic purple Yves Saint Laurent gown she wore to the Notes on a Scandal premiere in Berlin back in 2007. A full-circle fashion fantasy?
