Tribeca 2025: The Fashion Festival Within the Film Festival
The 2025 Tribeca Festival (it’s still hard not to instinctively type “Film Festival”) is in full swing in Manhattan, and while the city buzzes with cinematic energy, the red carpet is doing what it does best—delivering everything from directional drama to breezy summer minimalism.

Gonzo Girl Premiere
Camila Morrone is staying loyal to her minimalist lane in a white silk Gabriela Hearst dress trimmed with black lace. It’s simple, clean, and leans into her timeless elegance. When the fabric falls this beautifully, who needs embellishments?

Allison Williams brought pure refinement to the podcast-meets-panel event in a white Giambattista Valli macramé maxi dress. Styled with white Jimmy Choo Ixia pumps, this look was textbook Allison—elegant, crisp, and quietly confident.

We Were Liars Premiere
Esther McGregor gave us a Gucci moment with a twist. Her Fall 2025 azure knit polo neck t-shirt and mini skirt embroidered with flowers was giving me throwback 1980s daydreams—helped along by the shortened length, and her hair, which sealed the retro deal. Black Gucci Signoria slingbacks completed her look.

Mamie Gummer wore a slinky, silver velvet turtleneck dress from Adam Lippes Fall 2025 collection. Yes, velvet. In June. I salute her commitment because I would need internal air-conditioning sewn into this look to survive it. But she looked unbothered and radiant.
Styled by Chloe Hartstein.

Smoke Premiere
Jurnee Smollett is the latest Louis Vuitton ambassador to embrace the slip dresses from the Fall 2025 collection. Like Emma Stone and Saoirse Ronan before her, she paired the delicate floral dress with flared matching pants. I wasn’t sold on this pairing at Cannes, but it works better here—maybe because the trousers are less obvious, or maybe Jurnee’s just making it work harder.
Styled by Jaime Mizrahi.

Tow Premiere
Rose Byrne was giving Rooney Mara vibes in a fringed Fforme Fall 2025 dress. But that sheer tulle panel? I’m not convinced. It’s not the transparency that’s the issue—it’s the shape. It’s just too wide, and ends up feeling slightly off-kilter.
Styled by Kate Young.

Relay Premiere
You weren’t a fan of Florence Pugh’s white lace version of this Stella McCartney look, so I’m curious how Lily James’ eggplant iteration fares with you. The ‘80s-style quarterback shoulders are back for another round, but I still find them a tough sell. I’m waiting for this silhouette revival to fizzle out.
Styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray.

Dragonfly Premiere
Andrea Riseborough returned to her gothic fashion roots in a black McQueen pleated collar dress with the sunflower embroidered leather coat doing all the talking. It was theatrical, moody, and a little haunting—in a way that only Andrea can pull off.

Rosemead Premiere
If you were wondering where the fairytale glamour was on this red carpet, Lucy Liu delivered it in full force. She floated in wearing a daisy-embroidered tulle cape gown—an unmistakable Monique Lhuillier creation. A yellow Judith Leiber clutch echoed the floral motif, amplifying the daisy details, while Lorraine Schwartz jewels complete the enchanting look.
Styled by Lee Harris.
