2021 SAG Awards Menswear Roundup

There is no way we could leave out the menswear from the 2021 SAG Awards, especially when the fellas have been stepping up this season.

Leslie Odom Jr.: We have to start with the ‘One Night In Miami’ actor, who rocked the coolest suit we’ve seen in a long while.

This Berluti double breasted suit, from the yet to be presented Fall 2021 collection, was a real fashion moment.  One that might not be topped this season (year/lifetime).  I love how the colours flow without any strict direction, and how the turtleneck matched the look.

The metallic plum chunky boots were the perfect way to top this look. Often footwear is what kills mens look…no such issue here.

Red carpet menswear is so exciting right now.  I hope it hasn’t peaked.

Dan Levy: Speaking of exciting menswear, Dan Levy was on hand to give us his unique perspective with two looks.

The first was a cream look from The Row, which was clear and elegant with a hint of destination wedding about it. The shoes slightly threw me off, but they don’t ruin the look for me.

Personally, I can’t get enough of his second look from Dries van Noten’s Fall 2021 collection. Mostly for the warm Bordeaux colour and embroidery, but also because I have been obsessing over those JW Anderson Chain loafers since they launched. These shoes are also an upgrade on what was presented on the runway.

Eddie Redmayne SAG Awards

Eddie Redmayne: It feels like a lifetime ago since we last saw Eddie Redmayne on the red carpet (October 2019 to be precise).

His Gucci Pre-Fall 2020 suit was easily identifiable by the patch on the sleeve, which we’ve seen on Nicole Kidman.

I  can’t say I’m the biggest fan of this patch.  On this occasion it’s competing for attention with his rhombus print shirt, yet I love seeing him back in his element.

Gucci leather loafers completed his look.

Jared Leto Gucci

Jared Leto:  Currently in Italy filming ‘House of Gucci’, the actor continue his love affair with ’70 style custom Gucci suits and silk shirts.  On this occasion he styled the look with a silk scarf and seashell shaped clutch.

From the cut of this suit, to the glorious lilac hue…I’m hooked.

Daniel Kaluuya: The British actor was in London on UK time, so I don’t blame him for opting for pajamas while being a part of the SAG Awards which was broadcast from LA.

You collect your award, you close your laptop, take off your robe, and you’re ready for bed.

Joking aside, I high-key love this Louis Vuitton Fall 2021 look.

This is a great colour for him, comfort is key, pjs are trending and booming in sales as a result, plus I prefer his more laidback presentation, as it looks too stuffy with the shirt and tie on the runway.

Aldis Hodge

Aldis Hodge:  The actor may have stood alone at the NAACP Image Awards, but the holds he own in the company of other suited gents at this event, making his own fashion statement wearing a black and gold brocade Dolce & Gabbana three-piece suit.   He has a thing for co-ordination.  Right down to his Dolce & Gabbana suede and gold heel shoes.

Daveed Diggs: The ‘Hamilton’ actor was also rocking a black and gold suit. His Atelier Versace tuxedo embellished with regal decorative motif is not for the faint-hearted, but he absolutely nailed the look which is styled with a black silk beaded shirt for added flair.

Kelvin Harrison Jr.:  When I saw Kelvin in this Gucci striped suit and bow tie shirt, my first thought was ASAP Rocky, as this is very much a style that he gravitates towards.  I love that more men are opting for styles we would usually see on the aforementioned rapper, Jared Leto and Harry Styles.

Josh O’Connor: I know my love for Josh O’Connor in custom Loewe suits isn’t shared, but that has not prevented me from being in full admiration for this latest suit, which is more traditional in style than his previous outings.

Sam McCarthy: I actually thought this was Brookyn Beckham at first.

The ‘Dead To Me’ star wore a ink blue Kenzo by FOB Spring 2021 suit which featured an oversized double blazer.

I’m not a huge fan of the boots, but they are a better option over the flip flops.

Skylar Gaertner: The ‘Ozark’ star looked sharp in this Joshua Kane blue suit featuring a striking blue floral print throughout. He’s dapper style instantly reminded me of Noah Schnapp.

Colman Domingo:  Wow.  This peach hued Greyscale four-piece suit was one of the most striking looks on the night. This is how you present your spring-ready,  Sunday best.

Thankfully no black shoes were located anywhere near this soft, yet sharp suiting.  The actor styled his look with Giuseppe Zanotti  ‘Achille’ tan and black leather biker boots.

Eli Goree: After going for a bold colour for the Critics’ Choice Awards, the ‘One Night In Miami’ star opted for grey and black Emporio Armani, and looks just as sharp, if not better, as I prefer the fit of this suit.

A Girard-Perregaux timepiece and David Yurman jewels completed his look.

Steven Yeun: Before you right this look off as just another black menswear look, look closely at how luxe this dunhill suiting is. I’m obsessed with the fabrication.

An OMEGA timepiece completed his look.

Eugene Levy: The actor kept things simple and chic in Prada. The white tie was the perfect way to modernize this look.

An OMEGA timepiece provided the finishing touch.

Riz Ahmed: The British actor wore a custom Louis Vuitton suit. After seeing Colman Domingo suit, I’m curious what this would’ve looked like with a matching cinnamon blazer.

Regé-Jean Page: Dressed in Louis Vuitton. I can’t say I am as impressed as others on this post, but I do appreciate the micro details.

An EF Collection earring and David Yurman rings completed his look.

Luke Newton: Part of the ‘Bridgerton’ ensemble cast, the British actor went for a more traditional look wearing a Dolce & Gabbana pinstriped suit, which had a Fall vibe to it thank to the burgundy shirt.

Jonathan Bailey

Jonathan Bailey: Also part of the ‘Bridgerton’ ensemble cast, it seems the British actor go the pinstripes memo, as he donned a Brunello Cucinelli Spring 2021 suit.

Phil Dunster: The ‘Ted Lasso’ actor wore a Canali look which featured a floral jacquard blazer. The look was styled with a Chopard timepiece.
