Alexis Bledel In J. Mendel – ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Season 2 Premiere

Alexis Bledel joined Elisabeth Moss for the premiere of Hulu’s ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Season 2 on Thursday (April 19) in Hollywood, California.

Like Jennifer Nettles, Alexis opted for a burnt velvet look from J. Mendel’s Fall 2018 collection.

The actress is known for her love for girlie frocks in fresh colours, so this darker mood is a huge change of direction, but one that I found just as successful as Jennifer’s outing.

Would I wear this dress in summer? No, but I love the end result thanks to the sleek styling which included Nicholas Kirkwood Lola Pearl sandals and a complementary clutch.

I’m somehow fascinated by this look, can’t put my finger on why.. perhaps it the beautiful face/ expression?

I think the pattern and texture of the fabric is unique and beautiful in this evergreen color. The texture reminds me of the needle clusters of the norfolk island pine; perhaps the designs’ inspiration. I love it.

This fabric is awful. On Jennifer, it looked like ground beef and at least Alexis chose blue, which is a good color for her. Love the color though. I wonder if the fabric looks better in person — it’s got to.

I agree. Not a fan of the fabric, but this colour is amazing on Alexis.

      wrong season regardless.

I wish her hair were up.
I love the color of the dress, it looks lovely on her.
It’s certainly not appropriate for an event in april in LA but she looks good.
