Gwen Stefani In Elie Saab & Celia Kritharioti Couture – Lights The Empire State Building & The Today Show

Gwen Stefani put her own riff on holiday dressing, first lighting the Empire State Building to promote ‘The Holiday Light Show’ on Monday (November 20) in New York City.

The singer eschewed the traditional Christmas colours for a black Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2017 dress.

The maxi version from the runway was shortened to a flippy mini, which enhanced the sweetness of the black heart bodice.

The dark colour palette and the sultry accessories prevented the look from becoming costume-y or saccharine. It was fun and flirty, and made me recall her Harajuku period.

Later that day, Gwen made a dramatic statement as she performed festive songs on ‘The Today Show.’

I was awestruck when I saw this Celia Kritharioti Couture ensemble as it recalled the glamour of Marilyn Monroe, but with the ‘You Make It Feel Like Christmas’ singer’s signature cool.

The dramatic sleeves could have looked cartoon-ish on some, but the sparkling white mini dress balanced the voluminous proportions for an ensemble that was both whimsical yet edgy.

Silver accessories against the white fabric recalled a snowy holiday vibe.

This is festive dressing that only the singer could come up with.
